*** The Others***

The early morning sun soaked up the chill from their skin. The sun shone right above the trees and the fencing when they woke from the shivers of the night. For some reason, yesterday's event in the gym seemed faded from their memories. Like starting a new day meant new hopes for them.

Azaan rubbed the crusts from his eyes and stretched. Mike, who was sleeping right next to him had been curled because of the freezing temperature of the night. He scanned the other faces. They were fast asleep, as if no worries gnawed at them. It was still pretty early, earlier than normal for him to get up. He walked around arousing his muscles that had reluctantly fallen asleep on the hard, dusty tiles of the swimming pool area. The idea of clean water brought cravings back to him. It had been only a day but judging by the horrors and the escaping he'd been through, he needed water. He wondered how Ethan was surviving, since he drank like six gallons of water a day.

Azaan walked over to the entrance of the swimming pool en route the boys locker room. He knew the shower existed there. He remembered the cool dripping liquid. Azaan stepped over a small twig making it crack. The sound seemed oblivious to what followed. A fist slammed against the door making him jump backwards. He tripped against a rock falling backward. The edge of the swimming pool drew closer as his foot slipped and he and he fell inward. His hand instinctively jerked forward heading towards the ledge of the pool. He caught it just in time. Searing pain ripped through his muscles as his body weight dangled from the edge simply on a couple of fingers.

"G-guys! Help! Help!" Azaan shrieked in terror. Falling into the pool meant he'd be injured and most likely unable to come back up. Worse he was on the deep side; inaudible from where his classmates where.

The sun light was magnified through her glasses annoying her. She woke up. The tense crossing of her brows hurt her forehead as she took off her glasses. A wail sounded in the distance. Shivika looked up attentively. She heard it again. She looked at the rest of her classmates who seemed like they couldn't care less. The mouths were open, drooling. On a normal day, on a normal morning, people would have taken pictures of each other drooling like this and then posted it. But now, phones and wifi seemed like a distant memory to her.

"Help!" A shriek sounded from afar. As usual, curiosity got the best of he as she got up and looked around. Azaan swung from the ledge of the swimming pool. In the deep side. His frail twig like arms seemed to give away any minute.

"Guys! Azaan's in trouble! GET UP!" Shivika screamed.

Zack lay lost in his dream. He didn't dream often, but when he did he didn't want to wake up. He wasn't sure what it was about, like most dreams, only it was very relaxing.

He was startled awake by screaming. He squinted in the sunlight, annoyed by whoever it was that decided it was fun to ruin his sleep. A headache throbbed at his forehead. The sunlight blocked his view as he groaned in annoyance.

"What do you want man. Go to sleep." he growled still drowsy. He immediately began to fall back to sleep.

------

"Get up he's in trouble!" Shivika said again.

Felix muttered to no one in particular, "I swear Shivika. The girls in our class are so dumb. What the hell is your problem?"
