***Alexis***

What the hell, did I just die? Her eyes flew open. Or what was left of one of them. The burning pain of ripped flesh was only a faded memory now. She sat up, blood dripping the front of her ripped stomach. She glanced at it, taking a moment to adjust to her blurry vision. He lung was smeared with blood and slightly limped behind her broken ribcage.

"Ewww! They're holes!" She said commenting on the porous structure of her organ. All that came out was a weird gurgle of unspoken talk. She looked upwards to her jeans that were badly slashed and ripped. Her bones, still intact, shone against the crimson blood that now pooled around her, covering the hallway tiles. "I never liked those tiles..." She spoke to herself. Another sentence of incoherent words sprung from her. Odd. She spoke again. And again. But nothing made sense. Her breathing would have intensified (if she were alive), as it dawned upon her that she was truly alone.  Broken from the world's talk, but still there. Still able to understand and hear, but unable to feel and talk...

*** Group A (Felix, Shivika, Mounika)***

Mounika coughed, her hoarse throat burning, as she ran. Even soccer practice hadn't been this hard on her. She could already imagine her muscles being sore after this. Maybe I should just give up... Maybe I'd be outta this misery... A growl sounded from somewhere behind her reminding her that she needed to keep running and giving up wasn't a chance.

"Where-" Shivika began, just as exhausted as her. Felix simply threw his head back and pushed further, his face redder than a ripe tomato.

"Where are we stopping?" She managed to choke out.

"Just- keep running..." Mounika choked back.

Felix heaved in the foul chemical-tasting air around haze. The haze was definitely lifted, but the smell and the toxic fumes were still definitely there.  He glasses threatened to slip off his sweat covered nose. Just a few more steps. He told himself as he continued dashing.

They ran past, slightly glancing at the spot where the girls used to eat their lunch while complaining about the terrible heat. The walkers only grouped up into a larger bunch as the three of them passed those rotting carcasses. They were only a couple meters away struggling to keep up. Struggling so much to grab a bite of their flesh.

They sprinted a hard right, near the mosque."In there!" Felix screamed. Nobody questioned his choice, too exhausted to respond. They dashed into the front door of the mosque collapsing by the door, amongst the broken glass.

A minute passed by.

Two minutes.

And the thundering and growling reached their ears. Mounika looked up, peaking past the metal of the door and through the shattered part of the door. Must have broken during the explosion. She thought. She gazed through suddenly feeling extremely vulnerable at the fact that there was no glass protecting them from the herd of zombies passing by. She ducked down, as one seemed to have caught her in its sight.

***Azaan and Keshini***

"Dude Azaan!" Keshini shook him until he woke.

"Yeah..." he responded still groggy, "what's up?" half of his sentence disappeared into a snore.

"Dude GET UP!" She urgently whispered. Azaan opened her eyes blinking, annoyed at her. Her eyes were red from exhaustion and her lips cracked from the dehydration. He only imagined how bad he looked like. She looked away from him as the noise sounded again. Azaan attentively listened.
