Ari's POV-

Annie and Ember shoot each other a nostalgic look and stand up. We all run to the deck to see Damien trying to figure out the ladder. I laugh at the sight.

"Let me help you," I say, running towards Damien with Annie and Ember at my heels.

He blushes with embarrassment. "Thanks," he says, handing me the ladder.

I take the ladder, unfold it, and drop it down the side of the Zodiac. I look towards Ember. "Why don't you go first, Em?" I ask. A genuine smile spreads across her face, one I haven't seen in a while.

I smile back as she walks past me and starts down the ladder, accepting my offer. Annie goes next, closely followed by Damien. I go down last.
Once I get down, Annie, Damien, and Ember are already conversing with the small crowd that has shown to greet us. Among that small crowd was Queen Aria, Princess Jade, Rafi, and Aaron. Aaron walks up to me, already causing butterflies to erupt in my stomach.

"Hey, how was the mortal world?" he asks, smiling.

"In one word? Bittersweet," I say, not completely willing to give out any other details.

"How so?" He asks, still smiling ear to ear.

"It wasn't really the same to have all of us together in one place without Shun," I say, looking at the ground.

"I can see why that would be bittersweet," he says.

"Yeah," I say, turning back to him, making sure that I have a smile plastered on my face.

He chuckles. "Well, it's good to have you guys back."

"It's nice to be back. Maybe a little action here in Didian will clear my head," I return.

Suddenly, someone pushes me, causing me to fall right into Aaron. He catches me and helps me to regain my footing, both of us laughing all the while. Once I stand back up, I turn to see who pushed me. It turned out to be Annie. "See, I told you that I'd do something to you soon. Now, I have,"she whispers into my ear and walks away, giggling.

I slowly turn around, still giggling. "What was that?"Aaron asks.

"Oh, nothing. Don't worry about it," I say.

"If you say so. Man, girls are complicated," he says, obviously confused.

"Maybe we enjoy being confusing," I retort playfully.

"Why?" He asks, now playing along with my little game.

"To mess with people," I respond.

"Makes sense," he says, and nods.
I look over and see that Ember has moved from talking to her mom and sister and is now talking to Rafi. She's smiling and laughing. That's the Ember that I know. I only hope that being here in Didian will help her become herself again.

I notice that I'm spacing out, I tend to do that when I'm thinking. I shake my head and turn my attention to Queen Aria, who is trying to get out attention.

"Why don't we move all of this conversing indoors? Ember, dear, would you take care of the Zodiac?" Queen Aria says. Ember nods and waves her hand, turning the Zodiac invisible once again.

Queen Aria smiles and nods, and motions us all inside.
