After riding several rides and playing games, the Carnival was closing and the sun had gone down about an hour ago. Shawn and I left the carnaval but neither of us were ready to go home just yet. I texted Ashton and told him that we were going to be staying out for a little while longer. We wandered the neighbourhood and as we walked down the sidewalk of some random street we didn't know the name of, Shawn slipped his hand into mine, intertwining our fingers. I blushed and looked up at him and he smiled down at me. We both kept walking until we reached this trail of the road and we decided to follow it. After following the trail through the woods for a few minutes it came out onto this cliff that overlooked the whole city. We sat down on the edge and I leaned my head into his shoulder. I stared off into the world, wondering if one day I would have a picture perfect life. A family and a husband and even a really nice house in a good neighbourhood that's near the great school my kids will attend.
S- A penny for your thoughts?
Shawn said to me, breaking me out of my daze.
A- Just thinking about my future.
He sighed and looked at me in the eyes.
S- listen Ady, Don't worry SO much about the future because life is unpredictable. Take it one day at a time and be spontaneous. Make the most out of the short amount of time we have.
I let his words sink in. Make the most out of the short amount of time we have.~Later that night~
I put my key into the lock on my front door and pushed it open. All the lights were off which meant either the boys weren't home or had already gone to sleep. Considering it was only 10:00pm at this point I figured they simply weren't home. Looks like it's going to be a sit-in-my-bed-and-eat kind of night. Which I didn't mind at all.
