"I SEE YOU IN THE SIMPLICITIES OF OUR WORLD, WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR, AND ESPECIALLY WHEN MY MIND IS IN SHADES OF BLUE."

Adalia did not have the best track record with biology — specifically, Adalia did not have the best track record with her biology teacher. Mister Abernathy was the stern man no student would wish on their enemies. Mess around in his class once and he'll never let you forget it.

—the woman in blue learned that the hard way.

Pearls was absentmindedly fiddling with her fingers, which was a sign of weakness in Adalia's eyes. She watched carefully as those fingers reached up to graze the glistening objects, eyes shutting momentarily as the fingers gently took one of them in their hold. After examining her carefully, she sought out her every weakness Veronica had. It was a power move on account of Adalia, and it was a dangerous one for Veronica.

"We were wondering, Cheryl," said Ginger, adorning a fake smile, "back in July, you told the po-po that Jason drowned."

"Yet," Tina continued, "we come to find out that Jason didn't drown; he was shot. Slightly suspicious, no?"

"Are you living mannequins suggesting I had something to do with Jason's death?"

Before one of the girls could say anything else that would tick Cheryl off, Adalia infamously held up her hand. Her glare burned into their souls, and they shivered. They held contact for a few odd seconds, the silence terrifying the younger minions.

"You're really insinuating that Cheryl did something to her brother?" At her question, they furiously shook their heads, practically clinging to each other for safety. Her next words were slow and menacing, "Unless one of you wants me to rip your over-lined lips off, I suggest you—"

"We won't do it again, Blue," Tina squeaked out, and Ginger facepalmed.

"Tina?" she asked, sickeningly sweet smile on her lips. "Don't ever interrupt me again."

Cheryl smirked from beside her best friend, giving her a discreet finger-five; and, just as the minions were going to apologize once again, their biology teacher walked to the front of the room, hands on his hips as he peered down at his students. Ginger and Tina scurried to their seats, and Adalia took her rightful place next to Cheryl, a lock of hair between her fingers.

"Seats, everyone. Pair off, gloves on, scalpels up."

"Can I be with Cheryl?" asked Archie, approaching their table.
