"WE MADE A MISTAKE AND NOW WE'RE PAYING FOR IT."

Cold fingers traveled around her exposed waist and she shivered, goosebumps rising on her arms from the touch. They grazed her skin, a pair of lips attaching to her shoulders. A smile covered her face and she leaned into the soft kiss, tilting her head to the side afterward so that the culprit of frost would press a final kiss on her skin. The lips curled up into a smirk and moved away, warmth returning to her body.

The birds were dead silent; the bed of lovers was cold; the love they once shared was fleeting. Betty could feel it when the fingers of ice touched her neck, gently moving her head to the side so that she could meet the eye of an even colder individual. Before she sat Adalia, her fingers combing through Betty's hair.

"Morning, Betty Boo," she teased, leaning forward to peck her lips.

The blonde cringed, bringing her hands to her face out of embarrassment. She muttered through her fingers, voice muffled, "I thought I told you not to call me that anymore. It's been months."

Adalia grinned, removing her hands from her face to connect them with her own. She lifted them to her lips to kiss her knuckles. Her heart swelled at the sight of Betty's dilated pupils and she quickly grabbed her phone from the nightstand, keeping her hands in her right one.

"I gotta get this on video."

Before she could press record, Betty grabbed her by the waist and flipped the two over, looking down at Adalia with a grin. She tilted her head and Adalia raised her hand to push her hair behind her ears, her own pupils refusing to reciprocate what Betty's had accomplished seconds before.

"I thought we were keeping this a secret," she mumbled, lips hovering over hers.

Adalia smiled, breath fanning her lips as she whispered, "Betty Cooper wants me to be her dirty little secret again . . . who would've thought — after she asks me out on my birthday, no less?"

          "You're not mad, are you?"

"No, 'course not," she replied with her lips pressed together in annoyance. Before she could comment on it, Adalia grinned and pecked her cheek. "How could anyone be mad at you?"

The blonde's cheeks lit up like wildfire and she burrowed her face into the crook of her companion's neck, nose tickling her. After the brunette's laughter died down, Betty lifted her head and gave her a playful glare.

"Don't do that," Adalia scolded, lightly placing her palms on her cheeks as she rested on her elbows; "it doesn't look good on you."
