Jaehee's P.O.V

I tried to hold back my tears as I looked at the woman I loved, laying down in front of me. Her skin was pale, dark bags under her eyes. Despite her appearance, her (e/c) eyes still had a spark in them.

It's over now, I guess it really is my time
I don't want to go
But it's time I got to say goodbye

"How are you today Y/n?" I asked, trying to keep my voice from cracking.

Y/n smiled at me, her signature warm smile.

"I'm doing fine, love." She replied, just before she begun coughing again.

I'm slowing down and I don't think that I can fight
I know somehow, you'll find a way to live your life
Remember just to live everyday like it's your last
And hold me now, 'cause I think it's time for me to pass

"How's the coffee shop?" She asked, once she regained her composure.

She wasn't getting better, the doctors said that we caught the illness too late. That Y/n only had a couple years to live.

"It's doing fine, I closed up early today." I replied, sitting down next to her.

"Don't close down early for me." She stated, looking down at her hands.

"I want to... I want to be with you all the time." I answered, holding her hand.

"I wish I could too." She replied sadly, looking down at our engagement rings.

I had proposed to her a couple of months ago. Things were going great with the cafe, we had regulars, and we were ready to expand. I thought that it was the perfect time to... and it was. Things were going so great...

"Jaehee... I need to talk to you." She confessed, gripping the hospital sheets.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I think that you should stop coming to see me." She stated.

My eyes widened.

"What do you mean? Am I visiting too often?" I asked.

"I'm not going to live much longer... You're wasting your time on someone that's going to die." She sobbed.

"It doesn't matter Y/n! I love you! I will never leave you! Especially not now!" I shouted.

"Why? Why me?! Haven't you ever though if there was someone out there, waiting for you? But you're just staying with me!" She shouted, tears streaming down her face.

"I'm not worth the pain... I'm not worth the suffering..." she sobbed, covering her face with her hands.

I pulled Y/n in for a hug. She was going through a tough time. But she was always there when I needed her, it's my turn. I'm not doing it so we could be even. I'm doing it because I love her so much.

"I love you Y/n... And nothing will ever change that. I want to be married with you for whatever time we have." I replied.

"And no matter what you say, I will always love you." I added.

"So stop trying to push me away. Don't make this harder for us." I sobbed.

Y/n's eyes filled with more tears as she hugged me back, sobbing .

"I'm so sorry... I just want you to be happy..."

"I know... But how can I be happy if you're not happy?" I asked.

"Even if we can't grow old together in this life, I will search for you in the next and next life, until I find you again." I stated.

"Do you promise?" She asked holding out her pinky finger.

"I promise." I replied as we linked pinky fingers.
