Wednesday

"Hey Peyton, I'll be staying after school today alright?"

"Why? It's a Wednesday?"

"Cause, I just want to..."

Peyton looked at me as if I was crazy, "suit yourself," then walked off to the buses. I ran over the rushing students to find Arden and Alex. "Yo," Alex greeted. I nodded my head towards him and wrapped my arms around Arden's waisted, resting my head on her shoulders. "Are you two together?" Alex questioned. We both shook our heads. "I just like doing this," I mumbled. Subconsciously, I rubbed my nose against her neck, inhaling her scent. She shivered slightly before pushing me lightly. "You smell different," I stated. "How?" Arden asked. "I don't know, you just don't smell like yourself... who have you been hugging?" I faked shock. Arden only laughed it off and swatted at my arm.

"Well, I just got together with Luna," Arden smiled brightly. "You mean like... in a relationship?" She nodded. "Alright, I'll see y'all later," Alex waved to us and walked off. "See ya," I shouted back. "Let's walk to the back," I suggested, pulling Arden along with me. We sat in the back of the building, having play fights and gossip about the latest couple.

"Luna said yes, having only known you for less than three days?" I questioned resting my head on her lap. "Yup," Arden bounced with excitement. "Do you like her though?" I mumbled. She hesitated for a moment. "I believe so..." She finally said. "Really? You believe so?" I scoffed. "Yeah, I like being around her," Arden huffed. "Yeah, yeah," I rolled my eyes. She pat my head harshly. "Ittai!" I exclaimed rubbing my head. I pouted at her. She only giggled and lifted herself off the ground and sprinted off. "H-hey!" I followed after.

"I miss my baby!" I cried out, annoying Peyton even further. "Yeah, you said that three times already," Peyton groaned. "My baby Levi," I pouted. I was currently having a bad day missing my nephew Levi. "Did you see my snap?" I asked Peyton. I received a nod. "Yes, he's cute and all and very chubby." I moaned, "yesh, he is."

"I wanna see Arden," I groaned out. "Dude, I've been hanging around her so much lately," I pulled Peyton's backpack. "I know," Peyton retorted. "You're so boring," I pouted. "Not in bed," Peyton laughed evilly. My face contorted into disgust. "Don't say that ever again," I grimaced.

Out of the corner of my eye, Arden walked over with Kayla and Luna. Arden's arm was draped around Luna's waist drawing my attention there immediately. Jealousy rose from the pit of my stomach. "Hey guys!" Luna ran over to us. "I'm going to class," Peyton quickly stated, then ran off. "Matte!" I yelled out in Japanese, but Peyton was already by the stairs. I groaned when Luna approached me. A sudden hate for her filled my eyes. "Hey Evan," Kayla smiled. I nodded at her and looked at Arden. She wasn't facing me and her body kept swaying from side to side. "Hi," she mumbled. I yawn, stretching my arms to come into contact with her shoulders. "What's wrong?" Arden shook her head. Luna took Arden by the arm and dragged her to the end of the hallway. "We're going now! See you two!" I watched as Luna looped arms around Arden and headed up the stairs. "What the f*ck just happened?" I said dumbfounded. Kayla only shrugged and dragged me to class.

"No really, what happened?" I pushed. Arden had denied every form of contact with me. "If you don't tell me, I will annoy the hell out of you," I remarked. She kept quiet, her eyes never meeting mines. "Did you hurt yourself again?" Silence. "Come here," I started to get angry. "No!" She resisted. "Arden!" I started to get frustrated. "Who was it this time?" I leveled my face with her's, making sure to stare into her blue orbs. I gripped her head in my hands. "Look at me," I demanded. "Who. Was. It." She continued to sit there in silence, keeping eye contact. "Dammit it!" I let go of her making my way to the wall. I yelled out and punched it as hard as I can. The pain shot up my arm making it go numb. It felt good, so good. Arden only flinched from her spot, whispering "stop" over and over again. I kicked the rocks and made my way back to the wall. Before it made contact with the bricks, Arden cried out, "I said stop!" At the sudden outburst, my hand fell to my side. Tears streamed down her face. It reminded me so much of that fated day. "I don't want to make my problem your problem," she screamed. "Hah? Your problem is already my problem boo!" I yelled back at her. She only stared at me, her tears staining her red cheeks. I groaned aloud before plopping down onto the floor. "F*ck! Shit! Dammit it!" I held my head in my hands . My head started to spin, my tears spilling uncontrollably. Grabbing my bag, I took off. "Evan!" I heard behind me, although no footsteps followed. Hiding behind a large tree, I took out my phone. After texting my older sister to pick me up, I called Peyton. "What's up?"

"Pey-Peyton," I cried. "I can't stop it, help me," I breathed out. "I feel faint," I tried to swallow, feeling it stop at the back of my throat. "Woah, hey, calm down bro, what happened?" Peyton said through the line. "Arden- she's- she so f*cking confusing!" I slammed my hand down on the ground. Peyton inhaled loudly before asking, "what did she do?" I stayed silent for a moment, trying to calm my breathing. "She's hurting herself again..." I trailed off, feeling my eyes puff up. The other line stayed still. "... She's... not the type to do this," Peyton said softly. "Apparently she is," I stated, "my sister is here, I'm going to talk to you later, you better be on." Peyton only laughed, "yeah, yeah." I ended the call, then pulled out my cap. Covering my eyes, I approached the car.

~ 'She came to me again. The moon that she held glowed dimly. Marks marred her skin. It wasn't so smooth as it used to be. It fell like diamonds, glistening in the dark room. Her lips moved, but no sound was heard. Taking the moon, she placed it by my heart, pushing it in ever so slightly.' ~
