Chapter Six - Mia /Hard Goodbyes.

Chapter Six - Mia /Hard Goodbyes *Mia's point of view*

Papa is leaving with Liang. I don't know where they are going or when they will be back, but I trust them.

Before I only had papa, so I am glad Liang is here since they are so close. But it makes me sad as I see papa sometimes giving sad looks to Liang when he isn't looking. Why is papa so sad?

"Mia, come with me for a minute." Papa comes to the door and puts put his hand for me to take. I do so and we go to the attic, our hiding spot.

"What is it papa?"

"I want to give you something before I leave." He made me close my eyes and I felt something be placed into my hands. "Okay, open up."

When I did the most beautiful necklace I have ever seen was in my hands. It looked almost as beautiful as the sea. "Papa... It's so beautiful. Where did you get this?!"

He smiles lovingly. "Someone very special gave it to me when I was at my home. Liang and I have the same one, and it connects us. With this no matter where you are; if you can't look at the sea or the stars we can find you. Whenever you want to talk to me you can and I will hear."

"Is it magical?"

He smiles. "Very magical. Don't ever let anyone else touch or take this from you. Never. Alright Mia?"

"Yes papa..." He kisses my head.

"Okay. I will wait for you downstairs." He then leaves me alone after putting the necklace around my neck. As I admire the jewel, serenity overcomes me. Then a knock on the floor is heard. I look to see Liang climbing the ladder."

"Mind if I come up Mia?" I shake my head and he smiles, coming all the way up.

"Is there something you need?"

"No..." He kisses my head, surprisingly, and I feel happy. "I wanted to say goodbye."

I suddenly feel tears form in my eyes as he watches me gently. "I'm sorry..."

He pulls me to him. "Don't be Laieen. I'm sorry... There isn't much I can do. But I promise to protect your papa. I won't let anything happen to him."

"Do you like papa?"

He looked shocked for a moment before smiling and wiping my tears away. "Yes I do. Very much." I watched him quietly. "But you know, I like you just as much."

This makes me smile and despite myself I giggle.

"What's so funny?" He pretends to pout and I hug him.

"I like you too." He kisses my head."You know what I wish Liang?"

"What?"

I stopped. "I will tell you when I see you again."

He pouted and then starts tickling me. " You little brat! I will get it out of you one way or another!"

I laugh, rolling on the floor and try to get away as he continues. "I'm... I sorry! Please. Stop!" I say between laughs. Finally after begging repeatedly he stops and I breathe.

"But really Mia, I love you too. You are like family to me. Do not ever forget that. If one day you need me you can find me." I sit up and nod. He suddenly goes serious and stares.I am about to ask when I realize his hand is on my necklace.

I hit it off. "I'm sorry Liang! Papa said not to let anyone touch it. Don't be mad at me!" He smiles and kisses my head again.

"Don't worry." He pulls out one that looks just like mine from around his neck and I gasp. For some reason he seems more important with that hanging do mightily around his neck. "I have one just like it. Made from the same stone. Papa gave that to you, right?"

I nod. "He said I can still be with you both if I have it."

Liang nods. "It is a very special necklace. Made by my grandfather... It will be served justice being worn by you." I blink and tilt my head confused but he laughs it off. "It is an honor and would be for my grandfather for someone so amazing such as yourself wore that necklace. I couldn't find someone better. Thank you Mia."

I blush, happy. "If only you could be my papa too..."

I cover my mouth by my slip as Liang looks shocked. We watch each other for some time until his expression softens. "Was that what you were going to say earlier?"

"Only a part." I say snobbish, not giving in.

He smiles and stands up, having to crouch. "Thank you Mia... Now take this ring. If you are ever in danger, go to the sea and don't look back. You will grow a tail and breathe underwater. Someone will meet you and take you somewhere safe in the sea. Alright? But it will only work with that ring on. Never take it off."

I am shocked by his words but nod. "Yes sir." I smile and he grabs my hand, putting the ring on. It was a beautiful ocean blue ring. It just pulled you in.

"Take good care of it for me. Never allow anyone to touch it or take it unless it is me, papa, or a man with white hair and a crown on. His tail is white and blue as well. If he doesn't the only other exception is a women with a crown on her head. She has red hair and her tail is a sparkling blue. She has purple eyes. Only the people I have listed. No matter what. People could use that ring for evil."

"You have my word." I say, gulping with the sudden news.

"Also, the people with crowns are King Liam and Queen Mirenda. Can you remember that?" I nod and he smiles proudly before we both go downstairs.

"Papa!" I jump into his arms.

*Kia's point of view*

Liang comes down the stairs with Mia, smiles in both of their faces. "Papa!" Mia jumps into my arms. I swing her around, kissing her repeatedly as she giggles.

"What took you two so long?" I asked looking at Liang. He smiles.

"Just had a talk. Saying our goodbyes... you know. Cry a little." He laughs as Mia blushes and I shake my head. Bending down I kiss Mia and smile.

"We have to leave now Lila... E Laieen Sey."

She wraps her arms around me tightly and I can feel tears fall onto my neck. "I love you papa."

"I know. I love you so much Mia." I hadn't felt like this since they day I had to leave Liang. My heart pangs and I kiss her again.

She then turns to Liang and jumps into his arms, crying, as I wipe my own tears away. In all these Ten years, I haven't been away from her for more than two days. Rarely even so. To know I could be gone from a couple of years or forever... I couldn't think that way.

"Remember what I told you Mia. Whenever you need me. Call for me." Liang whispers into her ear while murmuring words of love to calm her.

Soon we could waste no more time and people had to force her off of Liang and I. She was dragged to another room in tears and we hurried before anything else made us want to stay. Out the door I could still hear her crying.

I stopped and began crying uncontrollably as Liang held me tightly. Kissing me and whispering to me just as he did Mia. "I am right by your side Kia. No matter what it takes, I will make sure you get back to Mia safely. On my honor as Prince."

I clung to him and calmed, burying my face in his chest. "Thank you Liang." I mumbled. But by the way he hugged me, I knew he heard.

"Anytime Kia."
