Sometimes

I can’t look at you.

Sometimes,

You hurt me too much.

You make me wonder,

You make me think about painful things.

You’re my brother, and you don’t know my name.

I don’t know your favorite color, or what your interests would be.

I can’t hear you speak, or see you look me straight in the eyes,

And know, that you know me.

We live in the same house. We have share the same blood, the same nose and cheeks.

But you live a thousand miles away.

In a box, and different world,

I can’t reach you.

And I don’t understand you.

I can’t help but wish you were more.

I love you.

But sometimes, looking at you makes me hurt.

And that’s okay.

I have the right to hurt. I have the right to cry, I have the right to turn away.

As long as I always look back again.
