"Okay. Stay calm" Brittney says. I think she was talking to herself.
The waitress comes to our table and places our food at the table. When she looks up at the door to greet the costumers, she stops and her jaw drops to the floor. I turn around and see that Josh is standing there looking around. He notices us sitting here and walks to our table. There is a girl with light brown hair behind him. When I see her, a pang of jealousy washes over me. Instantly, she looks over at me and glares. Okay. She's an enemy. He takes a seat next to me and the girl sits next to Brittney.
The waitress comes back to our table to take the girl and Josh's orders. Once their done ordering, we start a small conversation. I can tell that Brittney is dying inside, but she's trying to hide it. She isn't doing very well. She's basically staring at him and drooling. I look over to the beautiful brunette sitting next to Brittney. She must be his girlfriend.
"So, Jennifer. Are you from around here?" Josh questions.
"Uh no. I'm originally from New York and came here to visit my grandma."
The brunette clears her throat loudly and looks over at Josh.
"Oh! Sorry! Uh. This is my dear friend, Debby."
Debby waves and smiles sickly at me. Josh gets up to go to the bathroom and Brittney heads outside for some fresh air once we finish all our food. Leaving just Debby and I, she looks around as if she were checking if anyone was around. Then, she looked over to me with a mean glare that could kill.
"Look, sweetie. I know you like Josh, but you have no chance. Especially against me. I'm an actress and well you're just you."
She's right. I told you to keep your distance. You better. Debby is a lot better than you and there's a reason Josh brought her. To show that you are a worthless piece of trash to him. Maybe you'll find someone else. Just kidding. No one loves you.
"Oh. I'm sorry. I never meant to flirt with him I guess. I'll keep my distance now."
"You better."
I rush to the bathroom. I've taken bullying and threats but her, she affected me in a way. I don't know why this had affected me so much. Why did it hurt so much? I can't take the pain. Normally, my tears would just absorb in my eyes. This time, they don't. They disobey me. They betray me. I feel the drops of tears roll slowly down my face and quickly wipe them away when I see Josh coming out.
"Hey, you okay?" Damn. He must've noticed.
"Yeah. Fine. Why?"
"Your eyes are kinda red." Hopefully he didn't notice me crying.
"Oh that. Yeah. Something must have flew into my eyes. Maybe an eyelash or something."
"Okay." He says unsatisfied.
I rush into the woman's restroom. I stare at myself in the mirror. I splash some water onto my face and feel the coldness wake me up into reality. I know he would rather have a person like Debby over me. I just need to accept the fact.
Once we've all regrouped outside, we all discuss on where to go. I've visited Hollywood plenty of times during our visits to Grandma, so there isn't a very particular spot I haven't been. Josh suggests we go shop around CityWalk and then head into Universal Studios. Since Brittney and I came here in a car, she suggests we follow them in our car, but Josh advises we all go in his car so that we don't get lost.
Josh gets into the drivers seat and Debby hops into the passengers seat. Brittney and I hop into the back seats. I've never really liked the back seats. Sitting in the back makes me car sick.
