8:00 AM - Thursday
It's been 2 days since we went out with Josh and Debby. Josh has been pretty busy with his band, so we haven't really talked. I heard that he's going to be in a week or so. We're leaving grandma's house in a week too.
I hop out of bed and go to get ready. I brush my teeth and splash my face. The cold water instantly wakes me up in the morning. No need for caffeine. Brittney walks into the bathroom and kicks me out. I walk back to my room to grab my phone. Once I've got my phone, I head downstairs for breakfast. I can smell the bacon from up here. Rushing, I run down the stairs and see grandma cooking. I grab a plate and she serves me a plate of bacon and scrambled eggs. I head to the dining table to eat. Until, a my phone vibrates. I look at the screen and see a text from Josh. I quickly open it and it says to walk outside. I put my food down and walk outside onto the porch. I see a guy in the driveway, but he's not Josh. The mysterious guy walks towards me. As he comes closer, I realize that it's Tyler Joseph. I panic when he comes onto the porch and stands in front of me smiling.
"Hi. I'm Tyler." He says.
"I'm Jennifer." I manage to get out.
He laughs, "I know. Oh, this is for you."
He hands me a box and walks away casually. I walk back inside and my parents stare at me. I hide the box behind me.
"Jennifer. Why were you outside?" Mom asks.
"Oh! Uh I was just observing the garden." Smooth Jennifer. Smooth.
"Okay then." Dad says confused.
I smile and grab my food. I slide into the dining room and start eating. The box is hidden under the table. I finish eating and put my plate in the sink. I run upstairs eager to open the box.
I run into my room and close the door. The bed sinks as I sit on it and I observe the box. The box is white and has a cute ribbon wrapped around it. "To the cute girl who got knocked over on her first day in LA" it reads on the front. I laugh and open it up. I take out the content inside. There's an envelope and something wrapped in tissue paper. I take out the envelope and open it. Inside, there is a letter and a ticket to Disneyland. I stare at the ticket and my heart skips a beat. Is this what I think it is? I open the letter.
"Dear Jennifer Adams,
I'm so sorry about my absence lately. I've been super busy and it's getting pretty stressful. You've been on my mind for the past 2 days and I can't help but to think that your bored to death without me. Just kidding. Seriously, it's been difficult not being able to see your beautiful face. Jenn, will you go out with me to Disneyland? You have to. I bought you a ticket already.
Sincerely,
Joshua William Dun"That's so sweet! I grab the white box and take out the rest of the stuff. There's clothes wrapped in tissue paper labeled with a card. "Wear this. You'll see." I take out the clothes. It's a white hoodie with Minnie Mouse on it and black leggings. He also included a pair of red Vans and a new phone case. He really went all out.
I look over to the ticket to check what day we are going. The ticket has today's date on it. We're going today! Uh oh. What am I supposed to tell my parents. There's only one ticket and if I go without Brittney, that would be very suspicious. Brittney walks into my room and looks at the letter I'm holding.
"Awww. Is that from Josh?" She asks.
"Yeah, how'd you know?"
"Who else would send you a letter here in Los Angeles? What's it about?"
"He wants me to go out with him. To Disneyland!"
