You kiss me along the nape of my neck,
Sending shockwaves down my spine,
Which make me cringe and giggle.
Your touch erupts volcanoes from under my skin
And your tongue ignites earthquakes
As it invades my inner ears,
I try to wiggle away.
But I'm trapped in your total embrace.
"I love you," I say
And kiss you under the stubble of your chin.
You fall forward on the bed
And cradle my head within your arms.
~
You whisper softly,
"You before me.
Always"
~
I smile at the sweetness of this thought,
I blush at what I must mean to you.
I tear up at the realization of this truth.
~
Flipping over,
Untangling the sheets about us,
I hold your face in my hands
And stare deep into your eyes.
Then I reply,
"And me for you,
Always."
~
We kiss yet again,
Letting the tears fall where they may.
We repeat, in unison:
"Always."
