Your perfume lingers
In the momentary solitude,
Your warmth still radiates
On my bare skin.
Fire crackles down into ash,
I await within the cocoon
Of these sheets
For a renewal,
Passion's kiss,
Sweet caress,
You and me
Entwined.
~
The door opens
And you let the robe
Slip away.
Your body sways,
Your steps
A language
No emotion
Can express.
~
We huddle,
Freedom
In each other's arms,
Heart to heart,
Fire fading to ash
Into the dark.
