chapter 4

J A C K

i grabbed a small peice of bread from the counter as my mother walked in. her face was expressionless, and she looked at me with bloodshot eyes. a smile tugged at her lips. "good morning jack." i smiled at my mom and hugged her. "good morning mom." i let her go and walked to our couch. i started eating my bread wondering what elsa was doing. what do princesses even do?

"Hello princess." yet another prince kissed my hand. its been like this for the past 2 hours. i sighed out of boredom until a prince with red hair caught my eye. he wasnt in the castle, he was in front of it. he was sticking up for a girl who was being treated badly by other princes because she is poor. the princes walked over and the red haired prince helped her up. she thanked him and ran off. he turneed to see me looking at him. he smiled and waved.

he started walking up to me and walked up the stairs. "princess." he kissed my hand. "whats your name?" he smiled wider. "im hans your heigness." he bowed and walked to stand by the other boys. my father stood up. "all princes are allowed to mingle with the princess." and then he sat back down. all the princes basically threw themselves at my feet. literally, they tackled eachother to get to me...

hans stayed where he was though. i got up and walked towards him. he smiled at me. "why arent you tackling?" he shrugged. "im not a rough houser." i nodded. i looked around to see my parents staring at us. "my parents are staring at us." i looked back to him. "yes they are. so what do you like to do?"

"Elsa, Elsa!" i turned my head to see anna running to me. "Anna?" she hugged me tightly. "Anna mary wants to put me in that!" mary came running out with a cute little dress. hans laughed a bit. "Anna that what your suposed to wear." i sat down and put her in my lap. hans sat next to me. "But, elsa, thats too much." i laughed. "Anna get used to it. you have to wear more like mommy when your older." anna looked at me and made an ew face. "i dont want to wear all that!" i sighed. "Anna wear them for me? and i will give you a present later." anna's face lit up and she ran to mary, who took her hand and led her to our room again.

hans looked at me. "for an 11 year old, your good with little kids. i cant do that. i am terrible with little kids." i looked at him. "i saw you help thet little girl." hans nodded. "yea but thats different."

i looked in the castle doors to see tons of boys tackling each other. and my eyes landed on elsa and a prince. they were talking comfortably. but it felt weird. he better not take my place as her bestfriend. i ran over to the bread store and got a bag of cinnamon rolls, and a blue rose from the flower shop.

i ran back home and burst through the door. i ran to my room and set the stuff on my bed. i looked under my bed and grabbed elsa's name and the paints.

i set them on the floor and started popping paint and painting her name. i wont let a snot nose prince take my place as her bestfriend.
