The sun caressed my cheek as my eyes fluttered open. it only took 30 seconds for the events of last night to hit me like a brick, and a deep blush spread across my face.

A knock on the door made me sit up, "come in.." My voice was very scratchy from laughing last night. Jack kept making jokes about Hans and i couldn't help myself. I found them funny. "good morning dear." Mary walked into the room with a big smile.

"Why are you so happy today?" I questioned. "Well, today prince Hans is coming. and i love seeing you two together... what's that smell?" Her smile faded as she sniffed the air, a green dress with beads on the chest, and shorter sleeves in her hands. "what smell?" I asked, "it smells like pine... and mint." Mary sniffed the air again. "i left the window open last night." i covered.

"Ah. so the smell of the woods wondered into your room. but you shouldn't leave your window open. you know the rules miss." i nodded, "i know Mary. But it's hard to stay locked up in here all day when so much is happening outside." I whined, and tossed my legs over the bed.

"I know miss, i am sorry. but let's get you dressed." She said holding the dress out to me. "Did Hans say where we were going?" I questioned. "he wants to take you on a boat ride." Mary fawned over the idea of being on a boat for hours. i nodded, but knew that Jack would probably see us, which made my chest ache.

"Come along Princess." Mary ushered me out of bed, and changed me quickly, adding green gloves, before tying my hair some what similar to my mothers. "There, you look lovely." Mary fawned over her work, and i sighed, i hated green. Blue was and forever will be my favorite color. now i wouldn't mind black because it complements my figure nicely. i just took my book of my nightstand, and sat at my desk, "thank you Mary." i said before dismissing her, and reading a book i liked very much. A fairy tale.

I crossed my legs, turning the pages in rhythm, when a knock made me fold the corner of my page, and set it down on my desk. "Hello, hello hello." Hans stepped into the room, turning to me instantly. his smile went from ear to ear as he closed the door and walked over to me. i stood quickly and curtsied.

He bowed and then took my hand and kissed my gloved knuckles. "Elsa, you look beautiful." he said before standing, and putting his hands behind his back. "i heard we were going somewhere?" I asked, smiling. "yes. i have scheduled a boat ride. is that alright?" I nodded, as he tried to take my hand but i stepped away and walked over to my dresser, where my cloak laid.

He picked up the fabric, and draped it over my shoulders. i thanked him and buttoned the top. "shall we go?" I asked. he nodded, and then i lead him to the secret door i use to get to the kitchen or out of the castle. I'm surprised they didn't lock the door at night, but that's how i get out.

I led Hans down the dimly lit hallway, where a summer breeze whistled, and light was beaming at the end of the tunnel.

My heart beats went faster at the thought of being outside, and possibly seeing Jack. as the sun hit my exposed skin, a smile crept onto my face. the warmth of the sun always melted my frozen heart. or at least thawed it, when I'm with Hans. when I'm with Jack, i don't need sun, he melts my heart automatically. Hans led me through the town, and towards the harbor. Thank goodness people didn't know what i looked like. I looked like a girl the Prince has saved from starvation with this cloak. "are you alright?" Hans asked, reaching out to me, but I stepped away again, receiving a frown from him. He sighed, as we walked down the wooden path to the boat we were to ride in today.

I let Hans help me into the boat, because it was the simple touch of a hand, but that didn't get rid of my phobia of freezing him. Jack is a different story. He knows my secret. I showed him three years ago, when i first snuck out. we just couldn't make meetings work with my busy schedule and Hans' visits. So we decided i would sneak out. and when i did, i tripped on the way to the pond, and froze a tree branch. so i had to explain.

I was relieved when he excepted me, and didn't turn away like so many others. Including my parents. or at least it felt like they turned away from me. with how much time they avoided daily visits. So Jack became my only 'go to'. i sat across from Hans, facing the town.

That's when My blue eyes found a pair of brown. Jack was watching me go, with a smirk on his face. Was he happy that i told him i Loved him and whats between Hans and I isn's real? Or was that a twinkle of amusement? Whichever it was, I did not know, but i smiled lightly at him, and then paid attention to Hans, who was struggling to row the boat. "Haven't you done this before?" I asked, a small giggle leaving my lips. Hans joined with his low chuckle, "I have not. servants normally did this for me when my parents tried to set me up with a girl before our engagement." He said, "brutally honest, aren't we." i huffed. Just because i didn't love him, didn't mean i wasn't offended when he mentioned other girls. "I apologize Elsa. But at least I am rowing for you and not others." He smiled and tried to get our eyes to connect, but I wouldn't allow it. Instead, I looked down at the water, reflection staring back at me. The water looked different than last night. The sun made the water look harsh, while the moon made the water light up, and look smooth.

I watched Elsa get on the boat with that phony Prince Hans, not letting him touch her unless it was to help her into the boat. I turned to look down at my little sister Jane. "where's Elsa going?" She asked. She was the only one who knew about Elsa and I. "on a boat ride with a friend." i told her, and then tugged her arm gently, to get her to move from her spot.

"Come on Jane, we have to get back home." Jane pouted at me, "why?"

"Well, we can't go ice skating if we stand here all day." I smiled and ruffled her hair, as she smiled, and took my hand, fallowing me back to our home.
