I felt bad for forgetting Jack yesterday, so i set a bowl of candy by the window, and stuck around to make sure no stray dog or other kids came to take it. And very soon, I saw Jack running to the window. His cheeks red from running, and a bag in his hand. "hello Elsa. I'm sorry I'm late. my mom wasn't feeling well."

I shook my head, "don't apologize Jack, i didn't come yesterday. so i brought you candy!" I smiled up at him, and his eyes lit up at the bowl. he sat down, and put the bowl between us, "here, we'll share." He said, handing me a piece of taffy. i smiled, and took the pice of candy from him. "i brought you something, too." he said, handing me the bag. i quickly opened it, and emptied the small bag. out came a small cinnamon bun, and a small necklace. "my mom helped me choose the necklace." Jack smiled, "look it has your name. and mine. It was custom made." Jack said, taking another piece of candy. "Thank you." I smiled, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. he nodded, and rubbed his cheek.

"You're welcome." he said, shoving another piece if candy into his mouth. I put the necklace into my pocket, and then took the cinnamon bun in my hand. taking a big bite, i smiled at Jack, and licked my fingers that grew sticky from the frosting.

"I think this is the best meeting ever." Jack grinned. "me too." i agreed, and then shoved the rest of the bun into my mouth. "Elsa!" Mary yelled from upstairs. "uh oh." i mumbled. "i got to go Jack. But i will see you tomorrow." he smiled at me and then stood. "keep the candy. I can't have it." i stated before jumping down from the stool, and running out of the room and up the steps. "Elsa!" Mary yelled again.

I ran up to her, and clung to her apron, "yes Mary?" I questioned. "your sister is about to wake up. It is time for you to return to your chambers." Mary stated, urging me up the steps to my room. I nodded, and scurried up the the steps without her help. i rushed to my room, leaving the door open for Mary. she walked in shortly after, and closed the door behind her. "let's find you a dress. hm?" She smiled and walked over to the closet, as Anna's footsteps could be heard running down the hall.

I ran home with the bowl of candy in hand, and dove into my front door. Mom sat on a couch with tissues and a happy smile. "Oh Jack!" She said patting the seat beside her. "I have the most wonderful news." she said, sitting me into her lap. "you are to be an older brother." she hugged me tightly, and cried on my shoulder. tears if pure happiness. "a brother?" I questioned. "yes! Isn't it wonderful? you will have a sibling. A baby sister!" My heart swelled at the words, but i was slightly confused. how was i to be an older brother? I didn't know the first thing! I should ask Elsa tomorrow.

***7 years later***
Elsa latched the window shut, and adjusted her cloak. putting her hood over her bright platinum hair, she walked away from the castle. The town was always pretty at night. the lanterns were bright orange and looked like faded orange balls of light. "she rubbed her hands together as winter was nearing and frost covered the ground. her vision became black suddenly as a pair of hands covered her eyes. "give me your crown." a low voice whispered in her ear, and she laughed shoving the hands away. "Jack, you scared me." she said, turning around and hugging the boy in front of her. his looks haven't changed much since they were kids, but he looked handsome, his face more full, his body more built. Elsa looked the same as well, except she looked more like a lady, and her chest filled out a bit more. Jack held his hand out for Elsa. She smiled, and took his hand. "what are we doing tonight Overland?" Elsa asked out curiosity, "nothing. i made a late night snack over at the pond." he said, and led Elsa towards the woods. "Jack, you are such a flirt." Elsa giggled, and leaned her head on his shoulder. "well, what can i say? I'm weak in the knees for you." Jack smiled, and kissed Elsa's temple. "Stop it Jack. you know Hans and i are betrothed." Elsa hit Jack in the shoulder. he only chuckled, and squeezed her hand. "you know you don't like him." Jack pointed out, moving a branch out of the way, and helping Elsa weave through the trees to the pond. "It doesn't matter if i like him or not. you know why i can't break the engagement off." Elsa reminded him. "yeah, yeah, yeah, it will bring together two kingdoms, and the merge would help our people." Jack said mimicking Elsa's voice.

"You are unbelievable." Elsa rolled her eyes. not noticing where she was going, she tripped over a log, and fell into the arms of a smiling Jack. his eyes twinkling. "No Elsa. I'm ver believable" he said, and swooped down, connecting their lips. Elsa's eyes widened, and she quickly backed away.

"Jack, i can't" Elsa said, looking at him sadly. Jack shook his head, "you are way too loyal to this kingdom. not to loyal to that heart of yours." Jack said, turning away, and moving a branch, revealing the shimmering pond, the moon's light reflecting off the water, creating a blue luminescent outline. beside the pond was a small plaid blanket, and a basket. "wow." was all Elsa could utter. she moved past Jack, and admired the small set up.

"Does Hans do this for you?" Jack asked, sitting in the blanket. "No he takes me out to the garden's gazebo and we have lunch there." Elsa smirked, and took the cloaks hood off her head, her platinum hair shining from the Moons rays. She was about to sit, When Jack stopped her.

"Want to dance?" He asked. "But there isn't any music." Elsa giggled. "the beats of our hearts could be our music. You just look very beautiful, and your dress is in good shape. Dance with me." Jack said, standing and offering a hand. "I-i"

"Come on, have a little fun before Hans holds you down forever." Jack urged. "fine." Elsa sighed, and took Jacks hand. He smiled, and pulled her close, she bumped into his chest from his pull. "careful." he chuckled and spun her around the pond. she stepped on his feet twice, out of nervousness, and being distracted by his deep chocolate eyes. "Elsa."

"Yes Jack?" Their voices were soft whispers, "I know you can't break off the engagement. and i don't know if you love Hans or not. But i have to say it before it is too late... I love you." Elsa's heart swelled, and she gripped Jack's shirt tighter. "I- well you know i can't call off the engagement. But i think you should know i do not like Hans that way. And the reason for it is because the love of another has kept my heart away from him."

Jack nodded when she didn't continue. "I see." Jack tightened his grip around her waist, "that's because i love you, Jack." Elsa whispered. Jack's lips twitched into a smile. "Then why did you not kiss me back?" He questioned.

"I was nervous." Elsa answered simply. "i understand. I was nervous to even believe i loved you. My mother and Father haven't been very successful with love, aside from the love they shared in bed to have Jane and I. but i truthfully didn't believe it existed. However, as we grew older... That changed drastically." Jack sighed. Elsa's lip quivered. "Jack."

"Yes?" To say Jack was surprised when Elsa rose to her tippy toes to kiss him was an understatement. his eyes almost fell out of his head. his body was tense. But as he watched her eyes flutter close, and lean into him more, and wrap her arms around his neck, his body relaxed, his eyes shut, and he kissed her back.

The light of the moon seemed to have gotten brighter, as their distance became smaller. and soon, the picnic was log forgotten, as they kissed for hours on end. and to tell you the truth, Elsa, for a slight second, forgot she was engaged to someone she didn't love.
