Chapter 4

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! I tossed over to turn off my alarm that was blaring in my ear. I picked up my phone to see I had a missed call from Carlie, a text from Zack, and a text from Logan.

"Ugh." I tapped Zack's text first. "Hey girlie! How are you this morning? I couldn't stop thinking about you last night. Has he spoken to you again? I'll see you later. ;)"

"Zack, I love you." I typed my response. "Hey! I'm great! Yeah, he texted me this morning. See ya later hottie!!;);)" I sent the text then decide to face Carlie. I clicked her contact to call her. She picked up on the second ring.

"Hello?" She seemed excited to here that I had called back.

"Hey! Why did you call me?" I sat up waiting for her answer.

"Zack told me y'all are going out tonight!! Yay!! But, I actually called because I think I can fix the Logan problem." Intrigued by what she was saying, I stayed quiet allowing her to finish.

"Tell Logan I like him, then I'll ask him out. If he says yes, I can get close to him and find out why he's doing this." I quickly responded to her idea.

"Are you insane? He'll hurt you!! We just need to figure out how to get to him. What are his weak spots?" I sat and thought about this and Carlie clearly did too as she wasn't answering.

"I got it!! He cares about you right?" Carlie scared me so bad, I thought she would kill me.

"Uh... last I checked he had a crush on me, so that's a yes. Why?" I got up to examine my outfit choices for the day.

"Well, we can tell him that Zack broke up with you and that you're devastated. He'll come to your aid to make you feel better. Then you tell him that you "love" him. He'll ask you to go out with him, you'll say no and we'll get him in the soft spot. The only thing is to tell Zack about it so he doesn't think y'all actually broke up." I sat down to contemplate her idea. It actually sounded like it might work.

"Okay! Let's do it!! I'll tell Zack tonight, and we can "break up" in about a week. Carls, your a genius!!!" I got up to do a happy dance. We hung up and then I the had to deal with Logan. His text said "Hey May! How about we hang out to night? It'll be fun. Just you and me. What ya think?" I thought about what we could do to maybe get him in the soft spot with this.

"Oh! I know! I could stand him up!" I texted Carlie my idea and she agreed. I responded to Logan with a sure than went on getting dressed. I chose a t-shirt that had the word "Hope" written in cursive across it, a pair of jeans and some sandals. I decided to go grab some coffee at a drive through, so I grabbed my keys and my wallet and headed out. While I was in the car, Zack called.

"Hey babe!!" I said as I turned down the radio.

"Hey! What are you doing?" I could tell he was in a car because I could hear his radio.

"Going to get coffee. Why?" I wondered why he wanted to know this. He never had a normal conversation like this.

"I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out today before tonight. You down?" He asked with excitement in his voice.

"So down!! See you at my house in about ten minutes." I said as I pulled in to the parking lot.

"Okay. See you soon." He said before ending the call. I put my phone down, then ordered my usual along with Zack's usual. As I drove home I sang to my favorite song, Dear Future Husband. When I drove into my driveway, Zack was already there. He had a key to my house so he could get in. I walked in to find rose petals all over the floor. Zack came out and took my hand.
