Halfway through the semester of school sometimes our schedules would change. I usually hated it when this happened because I would have to meet a new teacher and have to learn their teaching habits and their policies to see if they were strict or not.
This time though I would be making it to my humanities class every day with perfect attendance as I sat in front of the class sharing a desk with Jade. That's right you heard me correctly the goddesses in the world have finally granted my wish and I had a side seat next to Jade.
We didn't necessarily talk a lot and usually, I would pretend to be sleeping on top of my books. The only bad thing about my seat was it being the first row and teachers would watch me very close and slap my desk when I fell asleep or ask me to get a drink of water to wake up. I knew she would not admit it but sometimes I would feel a tug on the sleeve of my shirt, and I would sit up before the teacher would catch me.
Nick visited our school far too often to see Ciel and when they visited the library all three of us got kicked out because they were making out and I was considered a part of their kind. Whatever the librarian had meant by that. It made me sad that I would no longer be able to peek out the window and see Jade but at least I got to see her in my last class of the day. Sometimes I would not go to my other classes, but I would always go to humanities and do my homework for the class.
One day I forgot my book and Jade slid her copy over having us share. It was the closest I could get to her as I took a whiff of her scent smelling a cinnamon butter smell off of her jacket. I had plans to visit the cafe she worked at with Nick and Ciel, but they kept finding excuses to do their own thing.
"Can we please go to the cafe today" I begged them as they smooched underneath a tree. Ciel looked up at me while Nick ignored me sliding his lips down to Ciel's neck to leave more hickeys.
"I'm sorry Andie but Nick is taking me to the aquarium today to help me with my oceanography book report" he apologized giving me a small smile. I sighed looking down at the book I was reading, maybe I should have just gone by myself even though it felt a bit weird sitting alone.
"Can you at least drop me off at the place?" Closing my book when the bell rang signaling lunch was over.
"Yeah, we will wait for you" Ciel replied giving Nick one last kiss which ended up being more kisses as I left them behind going to the library so I could read some more and not be in trouble of not being in class when I was outside.
Today in humanities class we were learning about biblical allusions as our teacher assigned passages to us partnering us up with the person we sat next to. We got Luke 7 from the bible and I didn't know anything about the bible except that it includes Jesus and his disciples. I wasn't exactly paying attention when our teacher talked about the different parts of the bible. I looked over at Jade who was looking down at her notes she had written in her notebook. She had such clean handwriting it almost looked like it could have been a typed font.
"I have to work today but we can do this tomorrow on the weekend and finish it early" she jotted it down in her planner while I stared at her nodding in agreement.
"Take a picture of my notes" she scooted her notebook towards me. I paused my eyes glancing over them before pulling out my phone and taking quick pictures of the summarized parts we were doing.
"Thank you" I scooted them back towards her and started reading them off my screen to hopefully be helpful tomorrow when we worked together on the poster. It was quiet work time so I put in some music and laid my head down hoping the teacher would let it go for sleeping during work time because I was wasting my own time anyway.
The bell rang above me as I lifted my head seeing most of the class gone and Jade already out the door seeing her chair on top of her desk. I sighed deciding to quickly find Nick and Ciel before they drove off without me. I found the bright neon pink car easily in the parking lot as I walked up to it knocking on the side door. Nick unlocked it letting me slide in, Ciel was talking about the fish he was researching for his oceanography book report as I sat in the back trying to find it interesting.
