|Andie POV|
I came running back, as soon as I heard the news on the phone. I did not even have time to reply because if this was not a joke I would not risk giving up the opportunity to see the real her. It felt so unreal but I had no time for overthinking as I quickly got out of the taxi and went running down the streets through people. I did not care that I almost twisted my ankles twice when I was wearing heeled boots because this was it, I would finally get to see her again.
I ran down the street to my studio not seeing anyone as I opened the door still not seeing anyone in the living room. If this was a joke, I was going to fire Frank no if, and, or buts. I took a deep breath trying to calm my hammering heartbeat from running more than two miles but also from the nerves that were building in my chest. I opened the door seeing Frank walk towards me about to say something. His mouth opened but my eyes were already connected onto the goddess that stood across the room.
This was it, she was here, my eyes admiring the black hoodie with the long sleeves dangling down her side as her raven black hair was now short but still just as gorgeous and flowy as the first day I had set my eyes on her. Her freckles danced across her cheeks and the moles were still perfectly placed where I had painted them. The only thing left to check was her eyes as I walked closer towards her seeing that her bangs were gone and there was nothing there to cover her exquisite eyes that shifted downwards trying to avoid eye contact.
"Hello Jade, long time no see" I tried to stay calm, but it came out in a croaky choked-up tone that made me curse my nerves. My throat felt dry and cakey not only from running but also from the nerves and adrenaline running through my body. She fiddled with her sleeves twirling them a bit until her fingers reached the edge of the sleeve and started moving the fabric between her fingers.
Her eyes glanced up at me for a second as her angelic smooth voice had me choked up to the point where I felt like I was dreaming as I smiled down at her. I gently raised my hand seeing her eyes following it as I rested it above her head giving her a small pat that she did not seem to mind. I ran my fingers under her chin lifting her face upwards so the light could highlight her facial features.
Striking green emeralds stared up at me as I gave out a sigh of relief this was indeed my long-lost Jade. I tilted my head forward still lost in the moment continuing to look into her eyes. Our eyesight did not break as I leaned closer and did the thing, I wanted to do for years but was only able to imagine in my dreams. My lips connected with her soft full lips that were lusciously a healthy pink tone as I ran my tongue underneath her lower lip feeling a gloss across them making me close my eyes and apply more pressure until I felt a hand pressing against my chest making my eyes open to see her eyes wide with confusion and fear swirled inside her pupils.
"Who are you?" She pushed against my chest harder as we separated from each other making me stand in shock feeling my heart starting to ache, and turning my head towards Frank who also had a surprised look on his face.
"Jade Nagase?" I said her full name out loud making her stand up straight in shock but she nodded her head in confirmation. So, this was her then, it was not a mistake. I went over to the side where I had dropped my purse and surfed through it until I held my phone in hand.
"This is us together" I showed her my phone of the picture of us on my bed back in California. It was taken selfie-style on our second date when Jade had fallen asleep against my arm and I could not give up the opportunity to not take a picture at the adorable moment.
She looked at the picture before looking up to match my gaze, "Andie" she hesitantly questioned fiddling with her sleeve.
"Yes, it is me from California" my eyes started to water at the emotional build-up of her finally recognizing me. I started sniffling as I tried to hold back the happy tears that were seconds away from spilling over.
