Minuet gazed at Y/n, not a flicker of emotion or thought on his face.

“Y/n, why- why would you? You- you are…”

Y/n couldn't answer. She had no answer.

Beside her, Paris smiled at the suffering boy on the ground. Minuet began to cry, silent tears streaming down his face. He changed into the cat. The night cloaked him, but the shining glow of his eyes didn't go away.

“I thought I loved you…” he whispered into the darkness, piercing Y/n’s heart and soul.

“Well, she never felt the same!” Paris, that hateful brat, was laughing at the broken cat. Y/n nodded in agreement, knowing Paris would expect that, feeling ashamed of her plan. Ashamed that she convinced Minuet, kind, sarcastic, awkward Minuet, to go along with it.

Paris turned away, still laughing.

“You're not even worth catching. My collection is better without you.”

Y/n forced herself to turn her back on her best friend. On the not-quite-human that she loved.

He didn't come home that night. Or the next. Or the next.

Y/n knew her mistakes, one after another, drove him away. That night, Minuet had come looking for her. He thought she might have failed to fool Paris and gotten captured.

She saw him, and tried to tell him to leave. He misunderstood and came closer. Paris saw him and cornered him. But Minuet, ever protecting Y/n, had controlled Scherzo. He was strong, indeed.

Now he was lost in the city somewhere, alone in the world he hates.

Y/n always left a window open, just in case he wanted to come back…

Even though she knew he wouldn't.

An- I typed this at school, cause I'm grounded, so forgive my mistakes, kawaii lovelies!
