Minuet

Minuet felt his heart thumping in his chest. Harder and harder. The tears streamed down his face, blurring his vision.

She didn't pull any punches. No. No, that was fake. It was, wasn't it? I don't know. I need to run. I need to breathe. I need to leave.

He bolted from the scene, unable to form a coherent thought. He went home. To her home. He watched quietly as she stood before the window. He watched her slide that window open.

“Minuet, please come home. Please…” She couldn't see him, and seemed to be begging the sliver of moon above.

Minuet sat in the tree. He couldn't say why, but something inside him said to wait. Not to go back to (Y/n) yet. He felt the time pass as he once had, when he lived alone in Lilium’s cottage. Minutes and hours and days. They blurred together, creating a web of pain and lies and self-pity. When did I start to love her so much?

He knew from the moment they met she was special. How the girl had glided through the moonstruck room, even though she was half-asleep. How her glittering (e/c) eyes had found him, sitting on her grandmother's casket. How her lips had parted when he Changed. How she'd willingly followed him, through the woods and far away. How she'd known when he was hurting in front of the fire.

The boy became a cat once more, lying in the tree near (Y/n)’s window. He saw her sleeping fitfully without him beside her. Her hands grasped for his body in her sleep. She spoke and screamed and cried. Every night.

So did he.

An~ sorry it's so short, but I needed you guys to know Minuet was safe. For now...

Also, my phone is broken, so I'm typing on my mom's laptop secretly at night. I'll be faster once we return to school.
