I sat on one of the chairs in the room, scanning the faces of each and every villain here.
Yes. That's right. I agreed to join.
There's no reason to refuse anyway. And maybe I can still manage. This damn hand isn't the only thing I use anyway.
"So Ms. Ridden, I see you've agreed to join." An elder woman said, smirking. I'm thinking she holds one of the senior postitions here.
"Yes. I don't see a reason not to." I replied coldly, taking a sip of my coffee.
The room fell silent, as if an angel just passed through.
A man cleared his throat and started to talk, I looked at the card placed infront of him and read 'Chief'.
Hmm... He holds the highest I see. And he looks awfully familiar. Along with the woman.
"I assume you know that your parents once worked here." He said, and that immediately caught my attention.
I may not know a lot of things about my parents, and I sure as hell didn't know about this.
"No... I-I didn't." I looked down onto my hands.
"I see... That's a shame... They used to be the most superior here."
They were...? Now I know why they don't want their pretty little princess to know about them managing an association exclusive for people commiting crimes.
"They were here for a long time... Except when they, uhm how do I say this, left? If that's what you call it." He smiled at me, there was something about that smile.
And I will find out.
"Anyways, we will give you a minor position for now. I'm sure you'll gain a higher one in no time." The woman from earlier smiled.
We talked about the history and how they formed this group.
I gained a lot of knowledge about them... But theres something missing. I just can't pinpoint what.
The man dismissed us and I walked out of the room, along with the others.
But was pulled back. By, what's her name? Katherine.
"You have to be careful." She warned, making me confused.
"What do you mean? You ask me to join and be careful all of a sudden?" I asked, brushing her hand of my arm.
"You don't understand.."
"Oh shxt really?" I rolled my eyes but she let it go.
"I asked you to join because I wanted to let you know what really happened to your parents." She said, slowly, as if her next words are sure to wreck me.
"Which is?"
"They... Killed your parents. When your parents wanted out of the group, to find you, they didn't agree. Insecure that maybe your parents will expose the association." Katherine said.
"Go on.." I said, pulling her outside to a cafè nearby.
"Your parents built this association as anti-heroes. Not villains, but also not heroes. But helps get rid of villains. However, the Chief and the Secretary didn't agree. They kept their evil plans and once you parents knew, they wanted to kill your parents. They wanted to protect you so they agreed to the plan. And once they've had enough, they wanted out. Because you went missing."
"However, they killed your parents."
"Why would my parents get Gemma Styles then?" I asked. My mind was slowly piecing things back together.
I am... slowly understanding.
"You didn't know? Gemma and Harry Styles' parents are the Cheif and Secretary." She said.
Now I know why they look familiar.
It all makes sense.
