Chapter 24: Princess Duties

“There is a wisdom of the head, and a wisdom of the heart. Who quoted this?”

So, apparently part of ‘Princess Duties’ is a pop quiz, well just a random quiz really. Lucien is my ‘teacher’ and will ‘teach’ me the ‘ways of becoming a noble princess’

Psssh, I can be noble.

But certainly not a princess that I cannot.

“Charles Dickens” I answered, oh I knew all about these quotes. Uncle Justin has this book about quotes and such, humour quotes, love quotes, life quotes, wisdom quotes etc. It’s a good book, a good book to read when you’re under house arrest.

“Correct!” Lucien exclaimed, smirking whenever I got it right, I haven’t gotten any wrong so I don’t know what he’ll do. “Factorise 2n + 4”

“How does this even help with being a princess?” I asked him from behind my wooden desk, rocking on my plastic chair. Oh yeah, apparently this castle had a tutor room that Nick used when he was younger.

“It tests your knowledge and makes you more clever, to build your wisdom” he simply replied.

“Cleverness is not wisdom” I quoted, grinning when he rolled his eyes.

“Euripides” he stated bluntly. (The quoter who quoted what I had quoted comprenday?)

“Yup” I popped the ‘p’, grinning at my awesome wisdom and memory.

“Just answer the question” he said, getting up and moving to his big desk, leaning on it while I mockingly inspected my nails.

“2(n + 2)” I responded, smirking.

“Correct! Now, we’ll move on to actual Princess Duties” he said smirking when my mouth dropped.

“What?! You mean, we did that for no reason! I spent half an hour sat here and answering your stupid questions!” I shouted, I was so tempted to throw my seat down and shout into oblivion. But, tomorrow is when I fully recover. Oh man, I can’t wait!

“Ah hah, that was a test. I don’t like the language that you use” he frowned; now walking around me, inspecting me.

“I don’t like the language you use!” I lamely retorted, groaning at my reply.

He stopped infront of me, looking down at me intently. “We must learn the 14 steps of being a princess”

“Did you get from Wikipedia?” I asked him with a grin.

He scowled and walked into a cupboard/closet in the corner of the room, he soon returned with a formal looking scroll, ah there’s a scroll.

“Did you buy that from eBay?” I asked him, grinning when he gritted his teeth.
