Chapter 29: A New Start?

A dinner with him?

So, that’s why I had to ‘dress up’.

Well I walked into that messed up room they call a ‘closet’ and found myself a pair of jeans with a white tank top, I put my hair into a messy bun and stood with my arms crossed.

I think I have been here for about 3 days and it has been pretty boring. I’ve been listening intently to everything else happening around the house, I have nothing better to do. This room seems to have been guarded or coated with something, a material or compound that blocks me out from contact with others. Or I’ve been injected with something again but I can’t seem to find any scars or marks that prove it.

Apart from being chained up, I’ve been treated very kindly but I’d never admit that to him. I seriously have a messed up life. First, this whole arranged marriage thing, speaking of which I bet they’re bugging out of their minds and once my brothers find out, they’re definitely goners. Secondly, after actually warming up to Nick and making friends with him after being snatched from my family. I was snatched from him. Great. Absolutely f*cking great. Why must my life be so messed up? Why do I have a stupid and evil mate? We won’t even get along! Firstly, I’m good and he’s bad. Secondly, I’m cool and he’s…evil. Thirdly, I’m awesome and he’s a prick. How will we even get along? Is this some sort of game? ‘Hey I’m bored’ ‘What shall we do?’ ‘Oh I have an idea, let’s kidnap Rosa!’

Seriously, apart from unbelievably awesome powers that you can run the world and practically take over the world with, what would you get from me?

And they must be crazy mad to think I was going to agree and do whatever they say.

My head hurts, I’ve never thought so much.

Knock. Knock.

Why is there a need to knock now when you haven’t for the past year I have been here?! Okay, maybe that was slight exaggeration. But, it does feel like I have been here for a year!

I didn’t even respond and the door opened, revealing Chris. I narrowed my eyes at him as he walked in, clearly letting him know that I hate his guts too.

“He’s ready for you” Chris said, his eyes scanned me as he finally took in my attire. “He wanted you to wear a dress”

“Too bad I didn’t want to” I responded, shooting daggers at him.

“He won’t be happy” he shook his head, motioning for me to join him.

“Then that will make two of us” I said, walking up to him, standing by his side, gesturing for him to leave first.

“I think we got off to a bad start” he started as he shut the door behind him while I was out in the dingy hallway.

“Oh really?” I asked sarcastically.

He rolled his eyes. “It was my job, I had to”

“There are things called, mutiny, revolution, rebelling, ever heard of them?” I asked him, a sharp edge to my tone, showing him I clearly was not pleased.
