Synopsis: sick, stubborn Jason adamantly refuses to go to the infirmary. Caring Frank, Reyna, and Piper.
Currently, the flu was kicking Jason's butt.
He'd been alternating between the guest bed and the bathroom floor in Frank's villa for almost three days now, all while feeling completely miserable. All he wanted was Piper to come and cuddle with him, but he couldn't even have that. Perfect timing, really; Jason had gotten sick the first day of his week stay at camp Jupiter, where he was supposed to finalize designs for new shrines at camp Jupiter and oversee them starting to be built.
Jason's mouth was dry, and he knew he needed water, but his muscles ached so badly, he couldn't bring himself to attempt to get out of bed. His head pounded, and he felt dizzy and nauseous, so he knew that if he tried to stand up, he'd probably throw up. On the other hand, he really needed water.
Groaning from the effort, Jason stood up and grabbed the wall, since he was too dizzy to walk without it. He'd barely made it into the kitchen when he felt copious amounts of saliva filling his mouth, and had no time to do anything but lean over the kitchen sink as all the soup and crackers that he'd been able to tolerate earlier came back up.
"Whoa," someone said from the doorway. Jason took a deep breath and looked towards the source of the voice. Reyna stood behind him, leaning against the doorframe. "I didn't realize you were this sick."
Jason opened his mouth to say something, but puked instead. Great. As if this interaction couldn't be any more awkward. Reyna frowned and went to his side, then reached up to feel his forehead.
"Did you take your temperature?" She asked.
"No." Jason croaked. "I got up for water, but I was so dizzy. Ugh. Bad idea."
"Jason, you're really hot." Reyna said, concerned. "Has anyone been here in the past few days?"
"Hazel brought soup last night. And Frank's around in the evenings, but I've been asleep." He answered halfheartedly. "Uh, Reyna?"
"Yeah?"
Jason gagged and leaned over the sink again. "...I think I should lay down."
Reyna frowned. "I agree."
She led him to the couch, where he collapsed exhaustedly. Reyna handed him a glass of water with ice and a straw. He looked at her incredulously.
"How'd you remember that?"
"Remember what?" She asked.
"The ice? The straw?" When Jason had gotten sick in the past, he had sworn by drinking ice water with a straw; he used to say it made his throat feel better.
"Remember that time you had strep throat and all you would eat or drink for an entire day was ice water because your throat hurt so bad? And then I brought you ice water and you wouldn't drink it because you said you needed a straw. I swear I had to search to entire camp for that one straw." Reyna smiled at the memory.
"Wow. That's..." Jason sneezed. "A vivid memory. I don't remember it that well."
"Yeah, well," she chuckled. "You tried to push through but your fever was so high, as soon as the infirmary saw you, they sent you straight to bed."
Jason laughed, then shivered.
"Reyna," he said warily. "What happened?"
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Like, what happened to us? We used to be so close, and now..."
