Based off of a prompt from Anna_Grace1996 . She requested Will with a cold and Nico entertaining him, and I was happy to oblige!

Will was pretty sure he was dying. He was sick, for one thing, and had to be away from the infirmary until he was no longer contagious. Seeing as he could barely talk without launching into a harsh fit of coughing, his usual work was just not happening. That left him stuck in bed and bored out of his mind. The boredom, not the illness, was what was really killing him. He'd tried to read, but the stuffy feeling in his head didn't allow any intense concentration. Will had also tried listening to music (it gave him a headache) and painting (he'd kept sneezing and splattering paint everywhere).

"Ugh." Will blew his nose and sighed.

"Hey, dork." Nico said from the doorway of the Apollo cabin. Will dejectedly tossed the used tissue into the trash can.

"Hey."

"Kayla sent me to check up on you." Nico explained. "So how are you feeling?"

"Pretty okay, actually." Will sniffled. "It's just a cold."

The son of Hades raised an eyebrow. "If you were really pretty okay," he mocked Will. "You would be in the infirmary now, doing your thing."

"Well, alright. I can't breathe through my nose, I have a headache, and I cough practically every five seconds." He explained, through his coughing. "But really I just didn't want to be around people who are trying to heal while I'm hacking up a lung. And I really can't make life or death decisions while my head feels like it's stuffed with cotton. I am very contagious... you should probably go, I don't want to get you sick too."

Nico sighed. "What am I going to do with you?"

Will sneezed. "What do you mean?"

"You're acting all noble, trying to quarantine yourself so other people don't get your cold. Just let me take care of you for a while."

"I can take care of myself." Will said stubbornly. "Plus your bedside manner could be better."

"I see how it is." Nico said. Though he appeared serious, Will knew him well enough to know that he was joking. "At least let me entertain you for a little while. You look like you're bored out of your mind."

"How'd you know?" Will chuckled, which quickly turned into a cough.

"I know you." Nico smiled, just a little. "So what do you wanna do? Read? Listen to music?"

"Already tried that. Got bored and got a headache."

"So... movie?"

"Still boring." Will turned down the idea.

"So what do you want me to do?" Nico asked.

"Just talk to me." The son of Apollo grinned, knowing that his red, irritated nose and watery eyes probably meant he looked terrible.

"About what?"

"I don't know. Tell me about your day."

"Ew. No. I hate small talk." Nico made a face that clearly showed his disgust at the idea of small talk.

"Fine. Then tell me about your deepest fears and all of your hopes and dreams." Will joked.

Nico rolled his eyes. "You first. What are you scared of, Will?"

Will sneezed again. "Moths. Spiders. Occasionally beetles. What about you?"

"I'm afraid of being forgotten. Or maybe just afraid of being alone. Thinking that there's no one out there who cares about what happens to you... that's the worst feeling."

"Well, now I feel stupid." Will sniffled. "That was really deep."

"Sorry." Nico laughed, then faltered when Will's face contorted. "What's wrong?"

"I have to sneeze." Will sat there for what felt like a long time with a funny look on his face. "Oh my gods. Why can't I just sne-" he sneezed. Then he sneezed twice more before Nico casually handed him a tissue. He blew his nose, then tossed the tissue into the trash can.

"Thanks." He sighed. "Gods of freaking Olympus, I hate being sick."

"You're not dying, if that's any consolation." Nico offered. He reached over and pushed Will's hair off of his forehead, pausing when their skin made contact. "You're really hot."

Will smirked. "Thanks for the compliment, Nico. You're not so bad yourself."

The son of hades rolled his eyes. "Not what I meant, idiot. I think you have a fever. Should I go find medicine?"

"I already had ambrosia." Will replied. "Didn't really do anything, though. I think I should just wait it out. I'm a son of Apollo."

"What does that have to do with anything?" Nico asked.

"My immune system is pretty good, thanks to my dad." Will yawned. "Even without ambrosia, I can get over bugs fast."

When Will yawned again, Nico reached over him again to adjust his pillows so that they were in more of a laying down position.

"You should sleep." Nico suggested. "You'll feel better faster."

Will didn't have to be told twice. He fell asleep almost immediately.
