Synopsis: Percy sick at a few different ages. Sally takes care of him. There's really nothing like your mom taking care of you when you're sick.

"Hi, Ms. Jackson." the person on the other end of the phone said. "I'm the school nurse."

"Hello," Sally responded uneasily. "What's going on?"

"Percy's not feeling well," the nurse explained. "His temperature is just above one hundred degrees, and I can't send him back to class while he has a fever."

"I'll be right there to pick him up." Sally frowned. He had had a runny nose and a little bit of a cough this morning, but she'd overlooked it.. "thank you."

"You're welcome." The nurse then hung up the phone and Sally grabbed her purse before getting in the car. When she arrived at the school, a secretary directed her to the nurse's office, where her son was sitting on a cot, slumped over. Percy's cheeks were flushed and his eyes glazed over when he looked up at her.

"Hi mom." He sniffled.

"Hey sweetie." Sally brushed the hair off of his warm forehead. "You're not feeling so good, huh?"

Percy shook his head despondently. "My mouth hurts."

"Your... mouth?"

He nodded. "But like in the very back." He motioned to his throat. Sally resisted the urge to chuckle.

"You mean your throat hurts?" Sally asked. He nodded. "Well, let's get you home, bud."

She signed him out, then she took her son home.

"Do you wanna take a nap?" Sally asked. Percy coughed and shook his head. "How about watch a movie?"

"The Little Mermaid?" He sniffled hopefully.

"Whatever you want." Sally grinned. "Go get some pajamas on first. I'll set up a place for you to rest on the couch."

She laid out some pillows and a thick, fluffy blue blanket. The blue blanket was highly comforting, and Sally usually reserved it for the rare occasions when Percy got sick. When he emerged from his bedroom, wearing his favorite fleece pajamas, his face lit up when he saw the blanket.

"Come rest, Percy." Sally motioned for him to sit, and he clumsily climbed onto the couch. Percy snuggled under the blanket and closer to her while the first scenes of his favorite disney movie began to play on the screen.

"Mom," Percy said warily, sometime later. "When's Smelly Gabe coming home?"

She kissed the top of his head. "Later. Don't worry about him right now, just try to rest."

"Why don't you make yourself useful, kid?" Gabe spat. "Get your butt off the couch for once and sweep and vacuum the floors. Oh, and do a load of laundry while you're at it."

"I'm sick." Percy murmured. Sally stood in the doorway, just out of view from Gabe and her son, unsure about whether to step in. Percy was currently laying on the couch, trying unsuccessfully to get to sleep. He'd been up all night with a dangerously high fever, which was scary; Percy's immune system was stronger than average, and he'd never had a fever that high before. It had reached 104 degrees before falling back down, but it left Percy (and Sally, who had been up comforting him all night) exhausted in its wake. Percy gave a barking cough before Sally entered the living room.
