The kiss

"What's wrong, buttercup? Aaron asks. "Do you regret the kiss?"

I swallow the lump in my throat and say " Yes, I mean no.... I don't know." I look into his eyes and immediately see that he did not regret the kiss.

"Just to let you know I did not regret it." I have been waiting for this moment for a long time."Aaron says.

I let out the breath I did not know I was holding. Hearing that made me feel so good.  I still had some concerns about us.

"Me too". I say.

"We need to talk more about this but right now you need a warm bath and go to bed." He says.

The next morning I walk downstairs and into the kitchen with a big smile on my face.  Heather was sitting at the table with her coffee.

"What are you smiling at, Sissy?

"Oh, nothing?" I say.

"Sure, that's nothing." "I'm not blind". "I know whats going on because Aaron had the same goofy smile too earlier". Heather says.

"He did?" I ask. This makes me smile even more.

"Something happen between you two, I can tell." Heather says.

"Something did happen." I say.

"What?" She asks.

I blush as I tell her "We kissed."

"What?!" "I can't believe it! Heather throws her fist in the the air. "Yes!, Finally its happening." "I'm so happy for you." She says.

"Wait though this is all so new." I am still working through all of it." "I am sure he is too." I say.

"What did he say to you after you kissed? Heather says.

"He told me that he didn't regret it and that he had been waiting a long time for us to kiss. I say.

"Well there you go then." I don't see the problem here". Heather says.

"Yeah, but we don't want our emotions to get in the way of our job. I say.

"I can understand your concern hun, but do you really want to have a relationship with a guy outside of our job that you have to lie to them? "With Aaron you don't have to do that." He already knows." Heather says.

I think about this for a moment and I say "Yeah I know, but Aaron lied to us about who he really is and what he does for a living. I say.

"I know but dad asked him to keep it a secret." It shows he has loyalty." Heather says

"It still doesn't make it right". I say.

"Duh, sister dear. She rolls her eyes at me. "I love you, Dana. "I think you should go for it." "You're so lucky to have someone like him. "You both would be stupid to mess this up. She says.

Just then Aaron walks through the front door and says "Who's stupid?" Heather looks at both of us and raises her eyebrows.

" I will leave you two to discuss that one. Heather says. She winks at me.

"Who was she talking about? He asks.

I laugh and say "Us".

"What about us?" He says.

"About what happened between us last night." I say.

" Oh". He says. "We need to talk about all of that." "I told you I don't regret it not one bit." " Do you?"

"No, I don't I say. I smile at him.

"Good at least we are on the same page. He says.

"I just don't want our emotions to get in the way of our job." I say.

"If they do we will just have to work through them just like any other couple. Aaron says.

I smile at the thought of us as a couple. It made me happy. I look into his eyes. He smiles as well  at me. He leans his head down and his kisses me softly on the lips. Electricity flows through my body as I feel like I'm on cloud 9.

He takes his hand and puts it on the back of my neck and deepens the kiss. I part my mouth to allow his tongue in. He drops his hand down to my waist and pulls my body against his. Just as we were getting into kissing we hear the front door swings open and in walks heather.
