Chapter 7

Today I woke up with a smile on my face. No classes today. I rolled over and closed my eyes again, enjoying the silence. After a few minutes, I propped myself up on my elbow and grabbed my iPod, playing a few of those daily games and yawning. After that, I looked at the time. Ten-thirty. I yawned again and plopped myself down on my pillow.

A loud knocking came to the door. I groaned and rolled over. I must have misjudged the end of the bed, because I fell on my side.

"Ow!" I shouted. "Fuck this!" I got up and pointed the middle finger to the floor and the bed, then walked over to the door and threw it open.

I stared at the blurry figures for a minute before I recognized them. The curly hair gave Mariana away, and Wes's pale green eyes gave him away. I gave a weak smile to Mariana and glared at Wes.

"What are you doing here?" I sneered. He didn't answer. He was too busy staring at something below my face, like below my neck, too..

Oh, shit. Forgot. I crossed my arms over my chest and glared harder at him. "I said, what are you doing here?"

He shook his head and looked back up to my face. "Is Olive here?" he asked. "I need to ask her something." I shook my head. "Do you know where she is?" he asked.

I shook my head again. "As you can see, I just got up," I said.

He nodded. "Well, see you at practice," he said, and turned around to leave. I pulled Mariana in to my dorm and slammed to door.

"Did you fall off the bed?" Mariana asked, amused. I followed her eyes and saw that she was looking at the sheets that fell off the bed. I blushed a little. "Yes," I said. "Now what are you doing here?"

She looked back to me. "Are you aware that Sarafina is having a party?" she asked.

I looked at her weirdly. "So what?" I asked. "I'm not getting drunk again."

She snorted, holding back a laugh. "You got drunk?" she said. "That's something I'm going to have to see. Anyway, it's a formal party. You know, masks and all."

I rose my eyebrows. What a weird party to have. "Why?" I asked. "Is it her birthday?"

Mariana laughed. "She wishes," she said. "Then she can have all the men giving her 'birthday presents'." She shook her head. "No, it's just a party, Apparently, everyone's going. It's this Saturday, which is two days from now, in case you haven't noticed. And we're going, too."

I looked at the clock. Ten forty-five. "What makes you think she's going to invite us?" I asked.

Mariana smirked. "She's inviting everyone," she said. "And everyone includes us, doesn't it?" I nodded, a slow smile coming to my face. "In that case, take a shower and get dressed, becasue we have shopping to do."

{~~}

Actually, we didn't go shopping right after that. We went to eat first. I really need to get a job. I'm running low on money. Only about five hundred left. Maybe I should work at Dunkin' Donuts again. Then I can steal donut holes.

I looked up at Mariana from my single stacker. "Why do you like those so much?" she asked.

I shrugged. "I don't know actually," I said. "I must be the sauce stuff." Mariana smacked me on the back of my head and I glared at her.

As we were leaving, I saw a couple guys walking in. One of them was Zack. I elbowed Mariana in the side and gave her a look. I pointed at him and rode my eyebrows at her suggestively. She groaned and rolled her eyes. I guess the guys heard, because they all turned to look at us.
