Grand Hyatt Hotel, Seoul
April 2026
You can say it's a blessed day. Starting from when the sun rises the weather was absolutely cool. It wasn't too hot nor too cold. It is also, the prettiest time of the spring season. Cherry blossoms blowing in all directions where the wind leads them.
A group, well a sea of people with high-definition cameras and some even holding hand mics flocked the vicinity as early as dawn. They were reporters.
Apart from them, another layers of boys and girls stood in orderly lines behind red dividers. They looked like those fangirls and fanboys you see in red carpet events.
Indeed they were and the events they were about to witness has been the talk of town since a couple of months ago. There was no way to keep the event private. Well at least the actual ceremony would be a private one.
Two months ago it was announced that a wedding will take place. A very high profile one. No matter how low profile they wanted it to be it was impossible.
Not when you were a pair of idols from two of the most popular groups in the nation. Not when everyone knew you and individually have your own crowd of supporters.
Did it come as a surprise? In fact it did. The announcement were trending for one whole week because there were no dating rumors at all. It shocked the entire nation.
So that day during spring, a sacred reunion took place. The bride- and groom-to-be arrived separately and as they passed through the sea of fans and reporters, people there went crazy because it was actually happening in just a matter of hours.
Not only that, the wedding guests matched those of top actors and actresses wedding. Many idol groups were present as well as other top celebrities like actors, comedians and those working in the entertainment business.
"Wedding of the Year" That's what it was dubbed. Following its announcement, sponsors came rolling in non-stop. Maybe because it was the first idol couple wedding in almost ten years. That and the popularity of the couple was enough to create headlines.
Medias and news broadcast were filled with their stories, at how they started dating, how they never showed interaction in public and many other speculations. One more thing that caused the buzz was the fact that the groom had just been discharged from the military a few months before the announcement.
Out of respect to the people outside, huge display screens were installed so that everyone can watch the wedding ceremonial live.
Inside the wedding hall, guests were seated on the left and right of the aisle. The aisle was decorated with white flowers as well as a white carpet leading to the wedding altar.
It was starting and everyone went quiet. The door opened and six men walked in one after another. They were the groomsmen. All looking dashing in their suits. Leading in front was none other than the handsome maknae of SHINee, Lee Taemin. Then behind him there were Lee Taeyeong of NCT, Byun Baekhyun of EXO, Min Yoongi of BTS, Yook Sungjae of BTOB and finally Im Jaebum of GOT7.
The guests were amazed to see these men came together. Meanwhile, outside the building fans were squeling. Especially the female fans. Well who could blame them, really. Eye candies they called it.
Then the groom entered. Smiling widely as happiness clearly reflected on his face, he walked with confidence. As expected, the groom was the king of the ceremony. All the groomsmen together were still no match to the main star of the day.
He stopped right at the altar. You bet he was nervous. Any moment longer was like a lifetime. Then the procession continued. Wedding bell was heard and the door opened once again.
Six beautiful ladies emerged one after another. They were wearing pastel purple dresses and each holding a yellow rose. They marched forward with Gong Seungyeon at the very front. Behind her the maknaes of Red Velvet, Kim Yerim and Park Sooyoung followed. Then there were Lovelyz' Mijoo, Mamamoo's Moonbyul and lastly, Twice's Nayeon all giving their most beautiful smiles.
Once again, the fans outside, it's the male fans now, were amazed seeing all the pretty ladies at once. Such a treat to the eyes.
The bridesmaids took their places opposite of the best men. Once everything has settled, the moment that everyone has been waiting for came. Nothing was more beautiful than this particular moment.
The most melodious music was played to accompany the singing choir. They sang in harmony and for the last time the door opened once again presenting the main star of the dreamlike wedding.
There stood Kang Seulgi in the most elegant white wedding gown holding her father's arm walking forward side by side. Her long brown hair were let down and a small tiara was placed on top of her. Her face was partly concealed with the shoulder-length veil.
Still her beauty and grace radiated through the entire hall. It's as if everyone held their breath all at the same exact moment because apart from the choir no one talked. If you don't believe that beauty can make world peace, this moment will proved you wrong. Everyone was in awe by her ethereal beauty. Even the fans outside were quiet.
Seulgi smiled as she marched along closing the distance between her and her soon-to-be husband. The walk felt so long her heart was on the verge of exploding out of nervousness.
Until, she saw him smiling, too. The most sincere smile she has ever seen. A smile so reassuring. Only one thing came into her mind. She knew she has made probably the best choice of her life.
Marrying him. Was, is and will always be the best choice of her life.
