CHAPTER 9 : The One

Grand Hyatt Hotel, Seoul  

April 2026 – Wedding Day

Two hours before the ceremony

Groom's waiting room

"Shoot.. guys where are they?" The groom well-prepared in his wedding suit suddenly exclaimed in horror.

"What?" A loud Baekhyun answered in the same panic tone. "What's wrong now? We are all here." He started to count heads. "All the groomsmen are here!"

"Can you relax, Baek hyung?" Jongin coolly ordered his hyung as seeing him in that state only worsened  the situation more.  "So what is it?" He asked the groom.

While Baekhyun was able to compose himself the groom got more terrified. "The rings. The rings!" He began rummaging the place. "I swear I had it with me this morning."

"I told you to pass them to Yoongi." Jin interjected. "I should have just taken them from you."

"Where did you last see them? Maybe the girls have them?" Suho tried to calm the situation. "Can someone ask anyone of them?"

Bride's waiting room

"Owh Namjoon-ah. Why are you here?" Irene asked causing everyone to look towards the door as Namjoon appeared behind it.

He hesitated to start. Scratching his neck he began nervously. "You look beautiful, Seulgi-ah." He awkwardly stated and smiled. "But do you girls happen to see the wedding rings?"

"What do you mean?" Wendy inquired sensing something was wrong. "We don't have them."

The others shook their heads as well. Then Moonbyul shrieked in horror. "O M G Don't tell us you guys lost them?!"

Namjoon could only gave them his weird grin and nodded. "I- umm I'll head back to the other room. Don't worry it's under control. See ya!" He dashed off just on time before the girls began to yell and scrambled in all directions.

Even when it was almost time, the situation inside the waiting room was still chaotic. Everyone was getting ready for the big moment but Seulgi had a more pressing issue to think of on top of everything. She was nervous and anxious.

"Unnie, don't worry. They said Chanyeol oppa is on the way to get it." Yeri tried to calm her down.

"But seriously how can he misplaced that thing?" Nayeon added. "Your man is so careless, unnie."

Seulgi could only pray it would turn out well because she only wanted happy and good thoughts on her most special day.

Behind the huge door leading to the grand hall on the other side stood Kang Seulgi. A very nervous Kang Seulgi crossing arms with her father. The elder man definitely picked up the emotion now residing in his daughter so he held her hand tightly and warmly exhibited her the soothing expression. "It will all be fine, princess."
