Yes! Saturday, a day off. I slept in until noon as usual as I got up to make my famous scrambled eggs (Jake sometimes beg me to make them on the weekends, cause they are that good). I checked his room and the kitchen but only to find a note on the kitchen island 'Went out to get Starbucks-Jake.'
When in usually alone, I'd take the advantage to put on some loud music, I grabbed my iPhone and the stereo to put on some Hedley with the song 'Crazy for You.' It feels good to cook while you sing and dance at the same time.
There was a knock on the door; I knew it was Derek, so I yelled: "Come in."
"Something smells good," he smiled.
"It's my famous eggs, want some?" I asked.
He nodded as I gave him a plate, "where's Jake?".
"Starbucks."
"So I see you have the music loud, huh?" he laughed.
I smiled, "I took the advantage."
"Who's the band?".
"Hedley."
"The song?".
"Crazy for You."
"Perfect," he smiled.
I looked at him, confused. "Why perfect?" he looked at me with a coy smile. "Because I am crazy for you sweet pea." I raised an eyebrow and smiled back, I wasn't sure if I should answer back, but all I can say is, "Thanks, your sweet." I can tell he wanted to repeat something but Jake came in with a bag full of croissants and frappuccinos.
"What are you watching?" Jake asked while passing me as Twix Flavoured frappe "2 Broke Girls," I responded. About five minutes into the show, Derek was saying how this show is similar to our lives. Both Jake and I looked at each other and then at him, "What?" he asked. I pointed out how the show is different by Max and Caroline are broke and have a dream of opening a cupcake shop as Jake, and I aren't broke and don't have a goal of any kind. Derek nodded as he understood my point "Okay, but why Williamsburg, Brooklyn?". I began to chuckle to myself, "I always wanted to go see Brooklyn, even this show aired, but the show inspired me about Williamsburg, so I thought, why not."
We both looked at Jake, waiting for his answer, "Oh, I always wanted to see New York." We all chucked while having our croissants.
"So, Derek, have you seen much of the city since you moved in?" I asked.
"Not really, why?".
I looked over at Jake, "Shall we?" I say excitedly.
"Defiantly," Jake agreed.
"Ohad, what's going on?" Derek said with a hint of nervousness in his voice.
"We are going out now get dressed; we leave in five."
As Derek went upstairs, Jake set up the stereo with the song 'Wake Up' by Hilary Duff. We both know it's an old song, but it seems like a good one when you are going out. I put on light blue ripped jeans with a green tee added with my 'second star to the right' flannel and my 'lost boy' hat. Jake wore a black tank with the words 'fearless' printed on it, black ripped skinnies, and a pair of black Doc Martens.
"Going all black, I see," I smiled.
"And you as Peter Pan," he raised an eyebrow as I laughed.
"Well, Peter Pan and his shadow," we both chuckled. "Let's go see if Derek is ready," Jake suggested.
We both headed upstairs as Jake opened the door, "Ready?" Jake shouted, "Ready," Derek shouted back from his room. Derek came out with a shirt with palm trees printed on it, simple blue jeans, and red converse. "Now, let's have some fun," Jake said excitingly as we all headed out the building to start the fun.
