       CAMP JAHA

━━━━━━━━━━━

ALPHA STATION had crashed onto a large field with a cliff face due west, and a spring further east, surrounded entirely within a copse of trees. The survivors milled around in groups outside of the station, breathing in the fresh air and marvelling at the novel sights. Nobody seemed to care about the wreckage for the time being except for the engineers and mechanics, while the Guard was busy securing the perimeter. Abby and Jackson had taken Raven to the medical tent immediately upon their arrival, while the guards escorted the detainees into the station and shoved them into a beat-up holding room. Their request to be unrestrained was denied.

"You know, I don't need to use my hands to kill a person," Jinny stated with a glint in her eyes.

"You have my permission to shoot her if she tries anything," Commander Shumway told the two guards that were stationed by the doorway with rifles in hand before marching out.

"I could tear your throat out with my teeth before you unlock that door," Jinny said.

"For God's sake, will you stop threatening to tear people's throats out? It's not like you've ever done it before either," Minho snapped at her as he leaned against the wall. "You sound like a freakin' werewolf."

"Let me out of here," she demanded, taking a step closer to him.

       "Try again."

"Let me out of here or I will rip your eyeballs out."

Minho looked at Bellamy with an incredulous expression on his face. "How do you put up with her?"

"I ask myself that question at least five times every single day," Bellamy replied.

"You think you're so cute," Jinny remarked, mock imitating him.

"Hell yeah," he responded with a cheeky smirk. "But you're still the cutest."

"Okay, that's enough, before I shoot the both of you," Minho told her, waving her away with his gun. Jinny rolled her eyes before turning around and taking a seat in the corner as Bellamy  paced in silent agitation in front of her.

Her mind continued its contemplation on Mount Weather, the jamming signal, Monty's disappearance and the rest of the delinquents subsequently vanishing with only traces of sleeping gas in their wake. Everything seemed connected, but she still had no idea what they were actually contending with. If only Raulf were there, she would ask him more about the Mountain Men, though his stories seemed to stem more from folklore than actual facts. She looked up from her rumination to examine the cracks and dangling wires from the structural damage the ship had sustained. It had fared the catastrophic descent better than she had expected.

A few hours passed until the door re-opened; Kane and Commander Shumway had returned to interrogate them. They seemed older than she remembered, or maybe it was just her imagination.

"How long are you gonna keep us locked up in here?" Bellamy asked.

"Until I'm confident you're no longer a threat to others," Kane said and Jinny stared at him with a raised eyebrow until he reiterated, "Until you stop being so hostile." He pulled a chair to the middle of the room and sat on it. "Let's continue. Now, you said there were hundreds of Grounders attacking. Two, three hundred?"
