       PRISON BREAK

━━━━━━━━━━━

JINNY AND BELLAMY HAD SUCCESSFULLY evaded capture and infiltrated the medical tent where Abby was waiting. She had already prepped Raven for surgery, whose skin was pale and glistening with perspiration, laid face down on the operating table awaiting the inevitable. Jackson was there to assist as usual, while Finn held onto Raven's hand for moral support. Bellamy placed himself in a corner so he wouldn't get in their way as Jinny took a seat by the table and laid her acupuncture needles next to the instrument tray.

"If it isn't my favourite person in the whole wide world," Raven grinned weakly, her voice tight with pain.

"Just gimme a sec and I'll make you right as rain," Jinny told her as she picked up a needle, gleaming silver and not more than the diameter of a hair strand.

"My knight in shining armour," the girl gushed.

"Hmm, I think I'm more of a shrouded in darkness kind of character," Jinny replied as she gently traced the discoloured skin of ruptured blood vessels underneath. She carefully pierced the thin layer of tissue with a needle between the second and third lumbar vertebrae, then placed three more in a line along the area.

Finn visibly winced as he watched her. "Is this really going to work?"

"I could just knock her out," Jinny suggested.

"No!" everyone in the tent exclaimed.

"Okay, I was just kiddin', sheesh." She raised an eyebrow at them as Raven chuckled.

"How much more do you need to do that?" Finn asked anxiously.

"Patience, grasshopper," Jinny said as she drew a line from the greater trochanter to the inferior end of the sacrum, and inserted two needles on both sides of the hip area. "And how 'bout now?"

Raven slowly wiggled her body from side to side, brows furrowing with uncertainty. "It doesn't hurt as much... it just feels like I hurt my back from falling down. Damn, Jinny, you're magic!"

"Of course I am," the woman laughed, then repositioned the girl'sl free hand, lying it flat down on the table with the palm facing upwards. She stuck a few more needles along her wrist to the forearm. "Okay, that's the best I got. Your turn, Abby."

"Right, we're ready," the doctor said, standing over Raven with her scalpel.

Raven took a deep courageous breath and continued to hold on to Finn's hand tightly as she braced herself

Raven took a deep courageous breath and continued to hold on to Finn's hand tightly as she braced herself. Jinny turned around to hold her hand out to Bellamy, beckoning him to come closer. He stepped forwards, curling his fingers around hers on top of her shoulder. Everyone waited with bated breath as Abby positioned the tip of the scalpel over the bruised area. Without warning, it sunk deeply into flesh with an outpour of crimson blood. Raven cried out, and Abby paused apprehensively.
