When class was over Gwen and I went up to Mr. Warner's desk. She handed him her snake drawing and smiled, "I hope you like snakes."
"I love snakes. I have a pet snake of my own, his name is Beetlejuice." Mr. Warner smiled back as he took the drawing from Gwen's hands.
"Beetlejuice was a great movie. Although they lied."
"How so?" He raised an eyebrow at her.
"Whenever I say Beetlejuice three times nothing happens."
I nudged her, "You're so weird. Well we better get going, we have a bus to catch."
We both turned around and headed to the door. I turned around and smiled at Mr. Warner who smiled back.
"See you guys tomorrow." He said as we left his classroom.
"God he is so hot." I sighed as I closed the door.
Gwen giggled, "You're hot for teacher."
"I've got it bad."
"So bad."
I laughed as I playfully pushed her, "So are you coming over today?"
"If you still want me to."
"I don't want you to, that's why I asked in hopes that you would say no."
"Well aren't you just a bucket of kindness."
"How sweet. Does your mom know you're coming over? Last time you didn't ask to come over, remember what happened?"
She let out a short laugh, "She called the po-leece."
"Yeah we don't want a repeat of that. Although I was tempted to ask that one cop if he could handcuff me."
"The hot one?"
"Of course! Man, I like way too many older guys. I'm so weird."
"You're not weird, you're just jailbait."
"With a pinch of homewrecker."
"I sure hope not!" She pushed me.
We reached the school's enterence and went outside only to see that all of the buses have left.
"Great, how will we get home now?" I sighed as I slumped down on the front steps.
"We could always call your aunt, she doesn't work today." Gwen suggested as she sat next to me.
"But the drive here from where she lives is a half hour, I don't want to make her drive that far just to take us home."
"Well, our only other choice is to walk home."
"Yeah our only way to walk home is the highway, I don't feel like dying today."
"Well, I don't want to sit here till your mom gets off work, which is at seven."
"And I can't call her and ask her to leave early. Her boss wouldn't allow that. Her boss is a pain in the ass, always making her work over-time. I would love to stick my foot up his-"
"Alright I got it." She laughed, "Please don't go into further detail."
We sat in silence for a minute until the doors to the school were opened and out walked Mr. Warner.
"Waiting for a ride?" He asked as he walked down the steps.
"No. No one can come and get us, they're either too far away or at work." I sighed as I put my face in my hands.
"The buses left five minutes early. Assholes." Gwen hissed.
"Maybe I could drive you guys home." He spoke.
Gwen looked at me, "It's our only choice."
I looked up at Mr. Warner, "Depends."
"On what?" He smiled.
"We will come with you, if you will sing for us."
He sighed, "Okay. What would you love to hear me sing?"
"What should he sing?" I asked Gwen.
"What about Barbie Girl?"
"Yeah! Sing Barbie Girl!" I stood up and stood in front of him/
"I am not singing Barbie Girl." He shook his head.
"Okay then. We'll stay here."
"Fine by me." He turned around and started to walk away.
"Wait!" I called which made him stop in his tracks.
Gwen and I ran over to him and joined him on the walk to his car. It was a black Dodge Dart and it was so awesome! You may think Gwen and I are stupid for hitching a ride with a guy we just met a few hours ago, let alone our teacher. At the time we never thought about it, and that's what our problem is. We do things without thinking and we do what we want.
"I call shotgun!" I shouted as we approached the car. I quickly opened the passenger's side and got in while Gwen took a seat in the back.
