Ross
I listened to her mouth run on the other end of the line as I strummed my guitar as silently as I could.
"Oh my G-O-S-H, Sebastion is the cutest little thing, I can't even!" Hannah squealed and laughed in my ear excitedly, making a smile creep on my face.
"I'm starting to think you love that puppy more than you love me," I chuckled, and played a chord.
"Puh-lease," she scoffed, "I love Ratliff more than you."
"What?" I asked almost dropping my precious baby guitar from its stance over my legs.
"Don't get your pink undies in a twist," she laughed, "I'm just kidding, dahling."
"You better be! You almost made me drop Ophelia!" I whined ad stroked my guitar admiringly.
"What, is that the made-up name for your guitar this week?" she joked.
"Ophelia is just," I threw my free hand in the air for emphasis, "special. Like you," I smiled as I could imagine her rolling her eyes.
"Okay, well, I don't know what to think about all this drama. I mean, Carissa made Jacob sleep on the couch last night and she started packing her things. She's starting to worry me," she mumbled sheepishly.
"Do you think she's going to get serious with Riker?" I asked, though I was scared of the answer.
"Carissa? Be serious? You do know we're talking about the same girl who laughs when Flappy Bird hits the green pipes, right?" she laughed in my ear some more.
"Well, so be it. But Riker started looking at apartments, I think something is going on. I mean, he packed up everything but a pillow and a blanket and washes his clothes every night. What do you think is happening?" I put Ophelia down and laid down on my back, roughly running a hand through my hair.
"Whatever it is, its about to happen. Carissa and Jake have been fighting all morning nonstop about everything! I gotta go and break up the argument again before things get out of hand," she mumbled before I heard a click.
"I love you too," I whispered and threw my phone at my pillows.
"What's up, bro? Something on your mind?" a curious Ry Lynch peeked in our room at me. I motioned for him to sit down with me on my bed and he did.
"What's the status on Riker?" I exhaled, closing my eyes and putting my hands on my face.
"He found an apartment a few blocks from here, and he's talking to mom and dad about it downstairs."
"Really?" I asked, standing from my laying position and walking out the door silently. A nosey Ryland followed after me closely as we creeped down the stairs. We stopped the third step down and listened.
"So, you really want to move out?" I heard dad's worried voice ring through the walls of our house.
"Yes, I want to have a home for Carissa and our baby. I want to make things right," he sighed, probably shaking out of control and looking at mom.
"And your not worried of anything happening to them in the apartment on tour?" mom cried out, probably holding Riker's hand.
"The only thing I'm worried about is Ratliff and Rydel getting married and wanting to move in with me. Besides, we're just going to be down the road! You guys can have little birdie talk or whatever you girls do and you can babysit the baby when Carissa enrolls in college here," he told mom reassuringly and I felt the mood shift in the room.
I peeked in to see them all hugging, mom noticably crying and dad trying not to. They saw me and I crept down to them and joined in as well as Ryland.
