"Wakey wakey, we're gonna be latey!" a very pregnant Carissa chirpped from above me. I opened my eyes to see her looming above me with a big grin.

"Why are you so happy?" I questioned and peeled back the covers as I held my head.

"Its your first day back to college! Why would I not be happy?" she shot back with a smile as she walked over to my dresser and picked out my clothes ("Its practice so when baby comes out I can be the best mother I can be," she told me one morning).

"Just me? Why aren't you coming?" I fired and she smiled admiringly down at her stomach then pointed at it.

"I'm going to take my classes online for a few weeks until he comes. I'm getting too big to go in. You know how many people will stare?" her smile faded but soon returned as she waddled around the room some more and picked up dirty clothes as she went.

"I'm going to go eat breakfast," I yelled at her over the noise of the vacuum cleaner she pulled out of thin air.

"I MADE FRENCH TOAST EARLIER AND I SAVED YOU SOME," she screeched back as I almost fell down the stairs. I ate my breakfast and went back upstairs to change into the clothes she had picked out for me.

I trudged up the stairs to find the pants she was wearing on the floor and her with a towel wiping something up beside it with her tie dyed sweat pants on and her hospital suit case pulled out.

"What is happening?" I asked her and she shrugged.

"I'm not sure. I mean, I'm pretty sure my water just broke and I think I'm having contractions every- AHHHHHH, five minutes but I'm pretty sure I'm okay," she smiled up at me.

"Okay, I'll take you to the hospital," I smiled down at her reassuringly and put my hand out for her to grasp and stand up.

She stood like a sumo wrestler while I quickly put on my clothes. We went out slowly but surely to the car, her holding her own as we pulled out of the driveway.

"FASTER!" she cried out, even though I was basically flying at 20 miles over the speed limit. The 30 minute trip took about 16 as I spun into the drive of the hospital. I rushed her in and carried her bag as we went through the automatic sliding doors.

"MY SISTER IS HAVING A BABY!" I yelled and my voice rang through the halls as nurses rushed her into a wheel chair and wheeled her away calmly.

"You don't look like her sister," one of the nurses told me.

"And you don't look educated enough to be a nurse now let me through!" I yelled and followed them into the room they put Carissa in.

"Call Riker," she gasped as they gave her a shot to relieve the pain. Riker had been staying at a hotel close to the hospital since it had been coming close to Carissa's due date and he didn't want to miss his very first moments of being a dad.

"Riker, Carissa's in labor, you better haul ass over here!" I yelled at him as soon as he said hello.

"Okay, okay, let me put pants on!" he yelled back.

"RIKER, THIS IS NO TIME FOR PANTS, GET OVER HERE NOW!" I yelled and hung up the phone.

I held her hand and smoothed her hair back away from her face as her contractions came in faster and more sudden. She screamed out her colorful vocabulary and belted out the first couple lines of an All Time Low song until Riker came bursting through the door in none other than Carissa's Care Bear pajama bottoms.

"DID I MISS ANYTHING? DOES IT LOOK LIKE ME?" he yelled looking around the room until his eyes laid on us.

"You only missed Carissa's great performance that consisted of screaming at the doctor and punching three nurses in the gut," I deadpanned and he took my spot as I left to wait in the waiting room.
