First chapter written on my new laptop! Yay.

And another very important detail: This chapter is dedicated to my older sister Jeanette because oday is her birthday! Woooo. Twenty-Three years ago, she was born.

Even though we don't get along all the time, I love her to bits.

Also, happy birthday to Maxi Iglesias, Spanish actor and model. I know its his birthday and like my sister, he also turns twenty-three today.

Anyway, please enjoy this chapter.

xoxo,

iv. Don't Forget to _____

Down

4. Don't forget to _____ around every corner to see who might be lurking.

The sentence on the puzzle stared ominously into her soul, as did the hazel eyed killer sitting across from her. Just reading the sentence had sent a shiver down her spine and he knew it. It was all part of his deadly game. The intimidation, the fear, he craved it.

"Is it 'look'?" She muttered to herself, trying to solve the first riddle on the paper.

Her blue eyes looked down at the slip of paper to see there were five boxes to fill in for that blank.

Suddenly, the answer came to her, "Check!"

Don't forget to check around every corner to see who is lurking.

Ashton nodded with a chuckle, "Congratulations. One less person will die tonight."

Her stomach churned.

"Will you tell me something about yourself now?" She asked.

"My victims..." He began. It scared Alice the way he said such things without even flinching one bit. "I met them all by bumping into them as they turned the corner when they walked on the street. Poor stupid bitches never saw it coming. You should have seen the way they all shamelessly flirted with me. It was disgusting." He said the last bit as his face contorted into what looked like repulsion.

She steered the conversation to something less disturbing.

"So, Mr. Irwin, why is it that you were brought to Sunflower Fields Mental Hospital?" She asked him, trying to make casual conversation with him while looking down at her clipboard, trying not to make eye contact with the most feared killer in all of Australia and most possibly the world.

She hoped all the things he said about murdering people tonight weren't true.

He licked his lips as a smirk appeared on his face. Bringing his hands together in front of him, while closing in to lean on her desk, he replied, "Don't you watch the news, Miss Alice?" He replied, mocking the way she always called him by his last name. "I killed all those people. I ripped them apart. That's why they call me The Ripper, don't they?" He nodded proudly. The very word-ripper-sent a shiver down her spine as she recalled the brutality in which this beast killed his victims and he still claimed he would kill more innocent people. "I'm scarier than every single nightmare combined." Something about his last statement struck her as a boastful comment, like he was proud of it all.

"And why did you do that? Why did you kill them?" She asked, not meeting his gaze and pretending to jot something down in her notes. She tried to steady her voice to make it sound calm, but they both knew she had failed.
