Chapter Three

I woke to the smell of bacon. I quickly put on my shirt. I couldn't help it, I bolted to the kitchen.

There was Ben—shirtless, might I add—cooking bacon.

"BACON!!!!" I yelled.

Ben chuckled, "Good morning to you too." He said, "More bacon is on the table."

I turned, and sure enough there was. I sat down and grabbed two pieces, putting it on a plate in front of me. There where pancakes as well, I stacked up three and poured syrup all over them.

Ben joined me shortly, and we ate our breakfasts. We cleaned up and went to the living room and sat on the couch.

"Well, I do not have to work today, so, what would you like to do?" Ben asked, directing his body toward me.

"LET'S BUILD A FORT!" I exclaimed.

Ben and I chuckled in unison, "Alright." He replied.

He got up and went to get more blankets and pillows. While he was doing this, I started taking the couch cushions off. I started arranging them and then placed the pillows. Just as I put the last pillow in it's spot, Ben came out with the blankets.

We both smiled. I grabbed a couple blankets and started draping them. Then I realized we needed more pillows.

"I'll be right back!" I said as I ran to Ben's room, grabbing all the pillows on the bed. I ran back to the living room and continued the fort.

After about an hour of running to get more pillows and blankets, the fort was assembled.

It was pretty short, but we both crawled through fine. It was a big fort, it stretched through half the flat. It was also pretty dark.

"Ow!" I shrieked. Ben and I bumped heads.

"Sorry." He said. He's such a gentlemen.

"I have a solution!" I said, crawling rapidly to an exit.

I ended up in the kitchen. Ben exited after me. "What is it?"

"Do you have a torchlight?"

"Yes, I believe I do." He went over to a drawer and dug through it a while.

Then he pulled out two torchlights.

I grabbed one, smiling and turned it on. I crawled back into the depths of the fort, Ben following. I got to the center of the fort—the living room.

Then my torch went out. I jiggled it, hit it, turned it on and off. No luck, I no longer had a torch. The only light now was Ben's torch.

"Looks like we'll have to share mine." Ben said, smirking.

"You planned this, didn't you?" I questioned as I too smirked.

"Maybe." He was still smirking.

I laughed, then his torch went out. We were in the dark again. We both burst up laughing. I started losing balance, so I grabbed onto Ben. But, we both fell, me on top of him.

We again burst out laughing.

When we subsided laughing, we tried rolling over to get off each other. But we rolled the same way, and Ben landed on top of me. We started laughing yet again. Then the fort came down on us, and we laughed louder.

This was perfect.

Once we stopped laughing, I felt Ben put his arms around my waist, pulling us closer together—if that was even possible. He inched in closer and closer, until all I could smell was him. We were breathing the same air, we were taking in each other's scents. I loved this moment.

Then, his lips softly laid on mine. He deepened the kiss a little. Our mouths moved in prefect unison. I wrapped one arm around his neck and used my free hand to intertwine in his hair. I didn't want this moment to ever end—it felt like it wasn't for a while. I was lost in him.

Then, he pulled back. Our eyes had adjusted to the dark and I saw his eyes ask for more. So I initiated the second kiss, which he did not protest to. This one was more passionate, and it was sweeter.

It felt like we were going to lay there forever, until there was a knock at the door.
