A week later...
Erin walked into the bullpen when Hank stopped her.
"Lindsay, Where is Halstead?" Voight asked pulling her aside.
"um .. He's getting coffee for the team. Why?" Erin smirked.
"Nothing, but since you are pregnant, I need you on desk duty." Hank pronounced.
"But Hank." Erin stubbornly said.
"But nothing, you need to stay safe. I can't risk putting two lives in danger." Hank retaliated. They both went to their desks and continued working on finding a case.
Jay walked in and handed everyone a coffee. After that he handed Erin a tea then sat down at his monitor.
"Er, What's wrong?" Jay asked Erin sentimentally.
"Well, because of the alien inside of me which you put there, I was put on desk duty.
"I'm sorry, and last time I checked this was a team effort." Jay replied grinned. The two shrugged it off as Burgess came out with a new case. Hank got the team together and they left. Erin went to get up when hank stopped her.
"You really think you're coming. Remember i don't like telling people things twice, so stay here or i will suspend you." Hank sternly told her.
"Fine." She whispered under her breath then went back to her desk. Jay walked passed her to leave and kissed her.
"Just listen to Voight and do what you to, babe." Jay said pulling away from her grasp. He walked out.
Erin sat in her chair at her desk she remembered how her and jay got there. She slowly dosed into a daydream of memories.
flashback :
J: "I couldn't sleep last night. I was up all night watching this doctor talk about commitment phobia. He was saying it had to do with family patterns and survival instincts. I'm just saying saying Bunny's been married what ... Five times."
E: "Don't try to psychoanalyze me Jay. Have you given any more thought on whether or not on telling- ."
J: "Nope, we're not telling Voight."
E: "He pardon Burgess and Ruzek."
J: "Burgess was shot. Her and Rudzek are an exception to the rule, do you want to take a bullet so that Voight will give his blessing."
E: "I'd take a bullet just to come over to your house tonight."
J: "What part of your body would you sacrifice."
E: "Uhhh... Shoulder. Fleshy part of the thigh."
J: "Now i feel special."
E: "You should."
Erin awoke from the daydream to her phone ringing. It was an unknown number. She answered the phone because she had nothing else to do.
"Hello, this is Detective Erin LIndsay, Who is this?" Erin asked politely.
"All i will say is ask your boyfriend jay who Amanda is and meet me outside." A female's voice had replied to Erin. Erin put on her coat and walked outside. She saw mid-height ginger standing in the back of the police station.
"Are you Amanda?" Erin asked walking towards her.
"You're Erin? Jay left me for you, really. Well where's Jay?" Amanda said with an attitude.
"Um... he's out on a case with the rest of the team." Erin responded to her firmly.
"And why are you not with them?" Amanda asked.
"Because my boss put me on desk duty because i'm pregnant." Erin said raising her eyebrows.
"What! You are pregnant with his kid and engaged." Amanda raged on.
"Calm down, why did you call me here anyways?" Erin was confused.
"So i could do this." Amanda said raising a gun to face Erin. She stared at her then pulled the the trigger. Amanda ran to her car as Erin hit the ground. The bullet had hit her right side of chest. She reached for her phone and dialed Jay's number. He answered but did not get an answer back. She slowly closed her eyes.
Hours later.
"Erin. Erin." It was Jay's voice that was going in and out of her ears. She opened her eyes to reveal the handsome face of her fiance.
"Er." Jay said kissing her forehead and squeezing her hand.
"What happened to me?" Erin said with her voice extra raspy.
"You were shot but you are okay. They did surgery to remove the bullet and you are all good and so is our baby." Jay responded to Erin's questioned.
"She got away. She tried to kill me but didn't, what a bitch." Erin said confused.
"Who?" Jay asked.
"Amanda, your ex." Erin respond. Jay clenched his jaw and got up.
"Where are you going?" Erin asked.
"I'm going to find her. She was a jealous lunatic from the start and we didn't even date she was a one night thing, and it was the worst night of my life." Jay clenched his fists as he ranted on to Erin. She rolled her eyes as he left the room. Jay was angry someone tried to harm his soon to be wife and kid, he was going to track her down.
