The first page in Tris's mind will now be one filled with grief, confusion, and lies... I do not own any of the characters in the Divergent Series.

CHAPTER 5

TRIS

His words stay true in my mind. Do I really know this mysterious man? I think back to my memories, and find them desolate. My mind is an empty book. Whatever thoughts that were in there are smeared, they are erased.

They are nothing.

My mind is an empty expanse, each thought I yearn is like a cacti growing. It is painful to think, painful to remember...

Tobias brings me to the lunch room and gives me a strawberry drink. I immediately feel woozy and I make him tell me where the bedroom is so I can sleep.

I can vaguely remember, I struggle to remember.

"No dreams," I hear over and over in my mind, echoing in its emptiness. I grasp the idea, praying more will come with it.

Slowly, a series of numbers enter my mind.

4, 7, 6, 11,...

- If you don't know what these numbers mean, you are not a die heart Divergent fan, but for the sake of this book:

Tobias has 4 fears (hence his nickname)

Tris has 7 fears

After Allegiant, Tris has 6 fears

And 4+7=11
