What will happen to Tris? Will she ever get her memory back? Will her relationships continue as though they were merely paused? I do not own any of the characters in the Divergent Series.

CHAPTER 6

TRIS POV

When I awake, I lay, grasping at anything. I see faces, but no names, and names with no faces. My mind is gone. There is a sudden knock at the door and the man named Tobias comes in.

"Tris, you have to fight this, you need to remember," he says. Is that really my name? I think back. Nothing feels familiar. My face in the mirror is an apparition. I know not.

"I know what to do," Tobias says. He reaches for my hand, which I take after some hesitation. He takes me out of what he calls the Bureau. He leads me out to a truck with the keys already in ignition. He jumps in and turns the keys hesitantly, his eyes glassy and distant. He tells me to sit down, which I do, my mind still set on something other than what is happening. I am focusing on the blankness. I struggle to even remember the walk here. The car starts and we leave that mysterious place, just to head into a new one...

I look up and see an unfamiliar structure, reaching up to the sky. I look in awe and stare at it, its eyes glowing and shining at the very top. It seems familiar, and I can feel the memory of it creeping at the back of my mind, lurking and waiting mysteriously, unknowing.

Tobias looks at me, tears back in his eyes. "That's the Hub you're looking at. It was once called the Sears Tower."

"I look at him, nodding approval. He could tell what I was looking at, my questions. So he did know me. Suddenly, I begin to cry. He brakes and motions me to come to the front of the car. I do, and he hugs me hesitantly. The, his lips find mine passionately, his lips perfect against mine. I pull away despite my desire for it, and look at him.

"I'm sorry... I don't know, I..."

"Don't apologize," he says, fighting tears. He looks away and begins to drive forward. That was the last time I saw him today even remotely happy. I stare back at the tower's eyes and doze, not caring if the world went on without me, not caring at all.
