"CHAPTER 1"

I'm a girl who's not all pretty with makeup, I'm simple, I wear shorts and a loose shirt with slippers, I go out only with liptint and baby powder as my makeup and my black wavy hair always tied up in a bun, my grandma would always say that I'd look like a witch if I just let my hair flow down on my shoulders. I'm Cassidy Ortega, at the age of 21 and a fresh grad from Montresor University with the course of Marketing.

It's a Friday evening, and I'm so bored, geez. I'm in the kitchen with a cup of coffee, my eyes straight staring at my laptop. Instead of going out and party with my friends, I'm here stuck and trying to look for a job. Sobrang hirap, naka ilang dasal na ko sa mga santo na magbagsak mula sa langit ng trabaho mula sa langit pero wala parin, huhu. I've sent my resume through jobstreet on different variety of jobs related to marketing, and now I'm waiting for calls and emails from them. I've also been through different interviews, but they would always say "we will call you back," if ever I was moving up to the next interview or if I was hired. Until now I'm waiting, until when? Hanggang kelan ako mag-aantay? Nakakapagod kaya, pero sanayan na lang.

"Cassy!" that's my mom calling me. "Yes ma?"

"Aalis kami ng dad mo, magkikita na lang kami sa mall. Alam mo naman diba? Friday is fridate," Mom said while she was smiling at me. My parents are always this sweet, even if mom is 41 and my dad is 43 years old, even if they're both busy, they always find some time to spend it with each other. I wish someday I would find myself a love like they have, an undying love.

"Yes ma, I know too well, ingat kayo ni daddy. Pasalubong ko ah? New york cheesecake ng Krispy Kreme please?" I asked my mom like a kid, what can I do? Favorite ko yun!

"Okay, okay nak. Bye, see you later." Off she went. Locking the door shut.

I go back to my room na nasa second floor. My room is all surrounded with the color light blue. My favorite, it's a very relaxing color. I tied my hair in a bun, grabbed my laptop and lay down on my bed, my stomach flat on the comfy fabric. "What to do? What to do?" I keep chanting again and again. I'm done watching kdramas, reading wattpad stories. I tried calling my best friends Icy, Elle and Steffie, but they're both busy. I'm tired of scrolling on and on in Facebook.

I decided to go out for a while, get fresh air. Di na ko magpapaalam kala mama, sandali lang naman ako. I brought my small pouch with me, inside it is my phone and wallet. I heard my stomach grumbling, so I decided to walk to McDonalds. I love the breeze of the air, it's not too cooled but good thing I have my jacket with me.

As I was approaching McDo, may biglang humablot ng pouch ko! "Hoy! Akin to! Magnanakaw! Magnanakaw!" Sumisigaw na ko pero di nya parin binibitawan pouch ko. "Putek kuya! Bitaw! Akin to! Tulong! Magnanakaw!" Muntik ko nang mabitawan yung bag ko, nagulat ako biglang nung...

*BOGSH* *PAK* *BOGS!*

Nagulat ako nang makita nakahilta ang lalaking mag nanakaw sa sahig na umaaray sa sakit na dinanas nya. "Miss okay ka lang?" Tanong saking nang isang estrangHERO, yes estrangHERO talaga. Kasi hero ko sya, he saved me!

"O-oo, okay lang ako. Ikaw okay ka lang ba? Do I need to call the police? An ambulance? What?" Tanong ko na natataranta, shocks! Bakit ganito? Yung mga paru-paru sa tiyan ko ang gugulo.

"Miss, I'm fine. I already thought him a lesson not to mess with pretty girls like you." He chuckled. Geez, pati pag tawa nya ang gwapo! And pretty girls? Like me? Humigawd! Kinikilig ako, bwiset.

"Ahm, thank you talaga. What can I do to repay you?" Pa-cute ang ate girl mo.

"Hmmm. Since we're near Mcdo, maybe cokefloat and fries would do? Napagod muscles kanina eh." Ngiti ngiti nyang sabi. Aba loko rin pala to, medyo mahangin. "Salamat ka, gwapo ka" Bulong ko.

"Ano yun miss?" Taas kilay nyang tanong. "W-wala! Sabi ko salamat, sige. Tara na?" Di ako makatingin sakanya, kainis.

"Tara." Ngiti nya. Sabay kaming naglalakad papuntang Mcdo. Medyo awkward kasi walang nagsasalita saming dalawa. Nang bigla kong naalala yung lalaking magnanakaw, pag lingon ko sa pwestong kinahihigaan nun kanina ay wala na sya dun! Asan kaya yun?

Napansin ata ng kasama ko na nakatingin ako sa likod. "Bayaan mo na yun, napuruhan ko naman nay un kanina. Karma na bahala sakanya." Tanging tango at ngiti lang ang isinagot ko sakanya.

When we reached Mcdo, he opened the door for me. Hmmm, gentleman. Sakto walang pila sa Mcdo.

"Goodevening Ma'am, Sir. Welcome to Mcdonalds, how may I help you?" Tignan mo tong cashier lady na to, ngiting ngitin palibhasa nakakita ng gwapo. Tsk tsk.

"Dalawang order ng fries at coke float, tapos isang apple pie for take out." Sabi ko sa cashier na nakatingin sa kasama ko.

"Okay ma'am, kayo po sir? Anong order nyo?" Aba! Sarap bangasan netong babae, malamang yun rin order nya magkasama nga kami diba? Di ba obvious?! Kagegel!

"Yung order nang kasama ko yun na yun." Bumaling sakin si ano, teka sino ba to? Fudge, kanina ko pa kasama di ko pa alam pangalan, hay naku Cassy shunga shunga, porket gwapo eh. "Hanap lang ako nang mauupuan natin." At umalis na sya.

"Ma'am boyfriend nyo ba yun? Ang pogi!" Usisa ni cashier lady at tangin ngiti lang ang sagot ko. Wala naming masama diba? I didn't anwer her question directly, I just smiled. "Bagay kayong dalawa ma'am." Hihihi kung pwede lang ateng cashier jusko!

"Here's your order ma'am." pagkasabi ni cashier lady nyan ay sakto naming dumating si lalaking di ko natanong ang pangalan pero gwapo. "Akon a magbibitbit nyan." Sabay kuha nya sa tray, nang naglalakad kaming paalis sa cash register, biglang sumigaw si ateng cashier lady...

"Stay strong po sainyong dalawa!"

Oh my gosh!!! Nakakahiya!! Pulang pula mukha ko ngayon, pinagtitinginan tuloy kami ng mga tao, di ako makatingin sa lalaking kasama ko. Sana pala sinagot ko na lang tanong nung cashier ng hindi! Regret is deep within me, wanting to kill me!

When we got to our seats, he was smiling at me like I did some stupid mistake. "So, girlfriend kita?" He asked me cheekily. Feeling ko talagang pulang pula ako ngayon.

"H-hindi no! Nagkamali lang yung cashier! At ikaw? Boyfriend ko? *irap* no freaking way! I don't even know your name!" Halos mag wala ako sa pag dedeny, jusko feel na feel naman nang ulupong na to!

"Hahahahaha! Oh kalma! Puso mo. Fine, fine hindi na. hahahaha!" tawa pa ng tawa, di na ko nakatiis. Nhinampas ko ng malakas braso nya, pulang pula na ko, wala akong pake kung di kami close.

"Hahahahaha! Aray! Ang sakit mo mang hampas ah! Mas masakit pa kesa nung tinuli ako nung bata!"Aba pinagtawanan pa rin ako nang loko. Iwan ko kaya to? When I was about to stand up he held my hand and made me sit. "Hey, don't leave. I'm sorry, hindi na promise. Ang cute mo lang kasing asarnin, namumula ka." He smiled at me, sht. My butterflies in my stomach are going crazy, I just nodded and took a sip of my coke float.

"By the way, I'm Troy." Pag lahad nya ng kamay sa harap ko. So I took it and introduced myself. "I'm Cassidy, Cassy for short."

"Nice to meet you Cassy, thank you for the treat." He smiled and ate some of his fries. "No problem Troy, thank you for saving me earlier." I smiled, and the kwentuhan went on. Nalaman ko na he lives at a condo malapit lang rito and he wanted to grab some food, like me. And I also found out that his working at an advertising company, gusto ko sana humingi ng tulong so that I could get a job, kaso nakakahiya naman diba?

I glanced at my watch, napansing kong 11pm na pala! Gosh, I need to go home, mom's gonna kill me for going out late. "Troy, thank you for the saving me and thank you for the time, I really need to go home now." Natataranta na ko bes.

"I see, well thank you din Cassy. I guess I need to go too. Hatid na ba kita?" gees, he's such a gentleman.

"No, wag na. it's fine. I'll take a tricyle. Thanks talaga! Till next time! Bye!" I waved running towards the exit. Mom's so gonna kill me if they get home and I'm not there, di ako nag paalam.

I hope we see each other again Troy. Bye.
