There’s a video of the song with Freddie Stroma, enjoy.
Gary's Point of View
It's Saturday morning and I’m listening to a kid who isn't really any younger than me. He looks like he's 16 or 17. Okay, yeah, I’m only 18, but in a couple of months I’ll be 19 and I’m almost owner of my record company.
I started to listen to the kid playing his guitar. He was good; I give him that.
I'm lost in a world that rattles my brain
I'm cleaning up my life from the mess you made
Oh o, Whoa oh-oh o
My soul's in debt but my bills are paid
I'd give anything just to make an escape
Oh-oh o, Whoa oh-oh o
So you can keep knockin', knockin', knockin'
Baby you're knockin'
But there ain't no way I'm ever letting you in
Not again
So keep on knockin', knockin', knockin'
But baby you're better off walking
'Cause I ain't gonna let you in
Never again, no not again
So, so long honey there's no debate
We lived in a dream then faced to fate
Oh o, Whoa oh-oh o
And I'm scared to engage so I stare at the stage
And pour out my heart to the blank of a page
Oh o, Whoa oh-oh o
Ah ah ah
So you can keep knockin', knockin', knockin'
Baby you're knockin'
But there ain't no way I'm ever letting you in
Not again
So keep on knockin', knockin', knockin'
But baby you're better off walking
'Cause I ain't gonna let you in
Never again, no not again
I went out on a limb again
I guess I had to lose to win
I was too confused to know which way to turn
And she could be a millionaire
Be a model I don't care
'Cause baby there's nobody home
Nobody's home, yeah
So you can keep knockin', knockin', knockin'
Baby you're knockin'
But there ain't no way I'm ever letting you in
Not again
So keep on knockin', knockin', knockin'
But baby you're better off walking
'Cause I ain't gonna let you in
Never again, no not again
The kid finished his song and I was amazed. I grinned at my father and he did the same to me. We both cleared our throats and gave the boy a smile.
“Welcome to our record company,” I said while getting up to shake his hand.
“Really? Oh damn, cool, Mr. Johnson. When do we start?” He asked excitedly.
“Well as soon as you sign your three year contract,” My dad told him. I got up and went outside of dad's office.
I miss him so much. I hope he’s having a good time. I on the other hand had too much to plan with Monday being the 11th day and Tuesday the 12th day and Graduation. But I wanted it like that. I mean once I graduate we can actually be together. If he wants to that is.
I grimace at that. What if he doesn’t want me? What would I do? I know for sure I wouldn’t see all this efforts as a waste of time because at least I made him happy there for a while.
Sunday Morning I had to go into school so that I could put up flyers. One was of his picture next to a shadow picture and the shadow one was me but. I didn't want people to know yet. They were all over the school and it was announcing the big day of course for everyone in school. The big day meaning graduation and Mr. Copeland was the announcer before the principal and he was getting Best Teacher of the Year trophy.
I was renting a sky banner to write on the sky “Please be mine Ryan Copeland” for the whole day.
I hope he likes it.
