day 3, week 1.

hazel: you know i'm not a serial killer or anything, you don't have to give me one or two word answers

luke: i know

hazel: you know how to test someone's patience

"I wouldn't have to test your patience if you could just leave me alone," Luke silently whispers to himself. Hazel keeps on texting him, he doesn't know why she feels the need to continuously text him.

"Ah Hemmings," he hears over his music playing through his earphones. He looks up and his mood automatically drops when he sees a teacher coming his way. Sighing, he turns down his music and removes his left earphone as Ms. Smith, his History teacher approaches him. He looks down avoiding eye contact almost immediately as she reaches his table.

"Luke, it's been a week and I still haven't gotten your assignment on The Aboriginal Settlements. I'm not going to go running after you for it. Either I see it on my desk tomorrow morning or you get a F, is that clear?"

"Y-yes," he replies still looking down, even though at this point Luke couldn't give a rat's ass about his report card.

No one's there to see it anyways.

"Good," Ms. Smith says before turning around and going back the way she came from. He sees some people staring at him and whispering some things while he puts back in his earphone and turns up his music. He goes back to eating his lunch and forgetting everyone around him.

hazel: i really want to get to know you but you're really making it difficult

luke: why? i'm not interesting

hazel: i highly doubt that

luke: but um you're a stranger

hazel: we've been talking for three days, i don't think we're strangers

luke: then what? we're not friends

hazel: that is unless you want to be

luke: well i mean i don't know you, you could be anyone

hazel: oh c'mon don't be like that

hazel: i'm trying just give me a chance

luke: a chance for what?

hazel: idk to talk to you? by your responses it seems like a punishment to talk to me

hazel: i'm cool i swear

luke: it's not a punishment i'm just not used to nor like talking to strangers like this

hazel: i like talking to you since all people i know think they know me but you don't

luke: uhh thanks?

hazel: so can we try this again, hi i'm hazel

luke: um hello

hazel: can i at least have your name, please?

hazel: i'm legit begging here, do you want me to get down on my knees

luke: fine i guess

luke: i'm luke

hazel: finally

hazel: nice to meet you luke

luke: thanks

hazel: now's your cue to say "nice to meet you too hazel"

luke: sigh

luke: nice to meet you hazel

hazel: there we go, see we're not strangers anymore :D
