luke: why?

hazel: i need help with my physics homework ;-;

luke: i don't do physics

hazel: welp

hazel: mr. google we meet once again

Luke puts down his phone as he focuses back on his work, making sure the teacher doesn't catch him. He still doesn't know why Hazel keeps on texting him even though she's not really getting anywhere.

Luke didn't answer any personal questions other than his name or age and any normal person would just give up by now but Hazel hasn't. And Luke doesn't know if he is happy or sad that Hazel hasn't given up on texting him. Sometimes he likes her humour.

"Alright listen up. Now that we have this chapter finished, I want you all to do a group project on it," Ms. Smith informs the class. "I'll put you into groups and give you a specific topic about the Aborigines and you have to collect as much information as you can. You can use the internet or books or whatever and put it all into a folder, PowerPoint or anything you'd like then present it together to the class. Any questions?"

Almost instantly, Luke tenses up and starts shaking once he hears the words 'group project.' He looks up and sees Ms. Smith answering some questions that the class has. Everyone in the class doesn't like him so the fact he has to work with some of them makes him panic.

"Alright so I'll look at my roll and pick out some people randomly to work together. Bear in mind that I don't know who's friends with who so everything will be random," says Ms. Smith as she goes over to her desk and opening the roll book.

"Please just kill me," Luke silently mumbles to himself as the teacher calls out name after name.

"Alright groups number 4 will consist of Oliver, Luke, Ava and Sophie."

"Great," Luke thinks to himself. Ava and Oliver are friends with Michael, this will make the whole thing really awkward on Luke's behalf and will just make everything much more difficult.

After all the groups have been sorted Ms. Smith tells everyone to get into their group so she can go around and give everyone their topics. Luke's group sits down towards the front so Luke quietly gets up and awkwardly walks towards his group. He grabs a chair and pushes it beside Ava.

"Oh hello Hemmings, how are you doing on this fine day?" Ava asks looking over at Luke with a smirk on her face. Ava is one of the tallest people in her class. She has bleached blonde hair with pink dip dyed tips as well as fake pink glasses. Luke doesn't reply to her as he just shifts in his seat looking down, pulling at his sleeves, as always.

"Hey Luke, try not to make a move on Ava or Sophie will you?" Oliver laughs smirking over at Luke. Sophie just snorts in responds and Luke just rolls his eyes, avoiding eye contact.

Oliver is one of the jocks. He has a fit body and is also quite tall with brunette hair and blue eyes. He is really cocky and have a big ego. Sophie is on the shorter side and had black hair which she usually has up in a ponytail, brown eyes and is also on the quieter side.

Not long after Ms. Smith comes over and gives them their topic. Their project is on Language and Culture. "Alright, you have until the rest of the class to summarize the main topics of your given topic. Just don't be too loud."

"Um guys do any of you know what's going on with Michael today?" Sophie asks Ava and Oliver. "He seems out of it."
"No, he hasn't really told us anything. I guess he's just having a bad day," Ava replies. After a couple seconds she smirks and looks over at Luke, elbowing him, "but I know what would get him to feel better." The rest of the group also look over at Luke which makes him look down.

"I've a question for you Luke. Why are you always so quiet? I don't think I've ever always speak more then two words," Ava giggles a little, "and how could you just sit there with no friends? I mean, I understand why you don't have friends since y'know but still."

Luke has the biggest urge to just say "mind your own business," but unsurprisingly he just stays quiet.

"You just walk around the school, looking like a depressed lost boy," Oliver laughs. This remark tenses Luke up. They have absolutely no idea how severe depression is yet they use it to joke around.

"Group four, I don't hear you talking about Aborigines. Get. Working," Ms. Smith exclaims making Ava jump at the roughness of the teachers voice.

"Don't worry Luke, Michael has sometime special in store for you, so special that we'll definitely won't be hearing you in a while. Don't think he or any of us forgot about what you tried to do with Mia."
