Stiles couldn't stop pacing Lydia's living room. Everyone had woken up at the sound of Lydia storming out of the house and they were all now sitting down on the couches, except for Stiles.

"What the hell happened? What does she think I told you?" he asked, directing his question at Allison.

"Maybe we should go talk about this privately?" she offered. She got up and pulled him into the kitchen, away from the others.

"What happened?" he asked again, crossing his arms across his chest. Allison looked down in guilt.

"A few weeks ago I was sleeping over here and I went to the bathroom. I heard Lydia's moms voice from down the hall so I'm assuming she was on the phone with someone. She was talking about someone named Jackson and how angry Lydia would be if he came back. So when she was upset earlier, I asked if it was because of Jackson and then she stormed off. That's it." she explained to him. His eyes cleared in understanding.

"I'm the only one she's told about Jackson, so she must have thought that I told you." he said, his sadness evident in his voice. "How could she possibly think I could betray her like that?" he wondered, sounding heartbroken.

"I'm sorry. This is all my fault. I shouldn't have said anything to Lydia." Allison said, walking up to Stiles to wrap her arms around him. She rubbed his back soothingly as he buried his face into the crook of her neck. She could feel small droplets hitting her shoulders and realized he was crying, causing her to wrap her arms around him even tighter. After a few minutes he pulled away, wiping his face of any trace of tears.

"It's not your fault. Come on we just have to find her and explain what happened. I don't know where she would have gone." he said, trying to think of possible places Lydia would have run to.

"Well I have my car and you have yours so how about we both just go out and keep driving until we find her?" Allison offered. Stiles nodded his head and they both grabbed their keys before rushing out to their cars, leaving the others behind and extremely confused.

Stiles tried calling Lydia's phone for the twentieth time, and as expected, there was still no answer. He had been driving around their small town for about an hour now and was close to giving up when he finally spotted an electric blue Toyota. The car was parked in front of the local park and Stiles quickly pulled up next to it, looking inside the car. He was disappointed when he saw that it was empty and hastily turned his car off and climbed out to look for Lydia. He quickly sent Allison a text telling her that he found her car and he's gonna take care of it. He walked through the park and spotted a dark silhouette on the swings, long hair blowing slightly with the wind. He let out a deep breath before walking over, sitting down on the swing next to her.

"How could you?" he heard Lydia whisper. His eyes were wide as he stared at her and she finally glanced up at him.

"How could you possibly think that I would do that to you?" he countered.

"Well who else would have told her?" she snapped back at him.

"No one told her! She overheard your mom on the phone a few weeks ago talking about him." he explained. She looked down at her lap, silenced by his explanation. "I told you that I love you. I thought you trusted me. How could you think I would betray you like that?" he continued, his voice cracking more and more with each word.

"Stiles, I'm sorry. I just-" she reached over to grab his hand and he quickly stood up, distancing himself from her.

"You can't just apologize and think everything is gonna be okay. You clearly don't trust me." he said, holding his hands up as he backed further away from her.

"Please Stiles, I'm so sorry. I trust you it's just when it comes to Jackson-" he promptly cut her off.

"I'm not him! I'm nothing like him! I've done nothing but care about you and be there for you whenever you needed me!" he shouted, hands running through his hair in frustration.

"Trouble in paradise?" they heard a voice say from behind them. They both turned around, startled, but could only see the faint outline of a person in the darkness.

"Who's there?" Lydia called back. She shuffled closer to Stiles as the figure moved closer to the light.

"Has it really been so long that you don't even recognize my voice, Lydia?" the stranger replied. Lydia gasped in shock and grabbed Stiles arm, slowly backing away from the voice.

"Lydia, who is it?" Stiles whispered, getting increasingly worried.

"Jackson." she breathed out, turning on her heel and beginning to run, dragging Stiles with her. She heard a loud noise and then felt the weight on her hand as Stiles fell down beside her. She looked back, Jackson was visible in the light now, and she saw a gun in his hand, wisps of smoke coming from the end of it. She looked down and saw Stiles clutching his side, groaning in pain, his shirt slowly turning a darker colour. She immediately fell to her knees and pressed her hands against his wound.

"Come on, you gotta keep pressure on it." she said, the adrenaline kicking in.

"It's no use Lydia. I'm just gonna kill him. You really think I'm gonna let you go off and be happy with some other guy? After everything we've been through? Everything you put me through?" he shouted angrily, getting closer to the pair.

"Everything I put you through? You stabbed me and left me on my driveway to bleed out. I think you're confusing who is at fault here." she shouted back.

"You didn't do what I told you to do. If you had just listened to me, none of this would've happened." he spat out, raising the gun and pointing it at her. After some contemplation, he turned the gun back towards Stiles and Lydia quickly jumped to position herself in between him and Jackson.

"Leave him alone. He has nothing to do with this." she shouted desperately.

"Oh but he has everything to do with this. I heard your little fight earlier, heard him say that he loved you. And I'm guessing that you love him too, right? Well I'm not gonna let that happen. I'm kind of saving him, really. Everyone around you gets hurt, so I'll just spare him the pain and kill him now, quickly." he drawled on, walking closer to them.

"You're crazy." she simply stated. He marched over to her and grabbed her by her hair, knocking the gun against her temple making her crash down at his side. He placed his foot against her throat, holding her there on the ground. He slowly raised the gun back towards Stiles.

"Please, don't." she wheezed out, trying to speak against her windpipe being crushed. "Kill me, not him. Please just leave him alone." she wasn't sure if any of her words could be understood, but she was desperate.

"Don't think so sweetheart." he said before clicking the safety off, his finger inching closer to the trigger. A shot rang out and she screamed, thinking that he had actually done it, had actually killed Stiles. She sobbed until she saw Jackson fall to his knees and then slump over on his side. She looked towards Stiles and saw him still laying on the ground, hands up to shield his face. Stiles slowly looked up and saw Jackson on the ground, both of them not knowing what happened. They turned towards the entrance of the park when they heard footsteps approaching. Lydia sighed in relief when she saw Sheriff Stilinski running towards them, gun in hand. Officers rushed up behind him and Lydia saw Allison standing over by the police cars. She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding and watched as the Sheriff approached his son, shouting for an ambulance. An officer helped her up and wrapped a jacket around her shoulders, leading her over to the cars with all of the flashing lights. Allison ran over and wrapped her arms around the girl.

"How did you know?" Lydia wondered.

"I didn't. Stiles text me saying he found you but I wanted to make sure you were okay. When I got here, I saw you guys backing away from someone so I called the police. I'm just lucky they got here before he killed you guys." she said, pulling back from Lydia and rubbing her hands up and down the girls arms. "I'm gonna go check on Stiles, okay?" she said and Lydia just nodded in response. She didn't want to go with Allison because she didn't know how to face Stiles. She saw an ambulance coming down the road and sighed in relief, knowing he was going to be okay.
