dangerdays!gerard
tbp!frank"Gerard?" Frank asked, holding a rose behind his back as he stood in Gerard's front doorway.
"Hmm?"
"Would you uh, would you- oh gosh, I don't know how to say this, but uh, I really like you, and I was wondering if maybe you'd like to go out sometime?" Frank brought the rose out from hiding and stuck it out for his best friend to take.
Frank's been wanting to ask Gerard out for quite sometime now, and he's finally gathered enough courage to ask him out, of course with the help of Ray Toro.
Frank's cheeks were as red as Gerard's short hair by now, as he waited for his best friend to answer.
"Frank..." Gerard trailed off. And that's when the short boy knew he's been rejected. He looked at the taller boy, but not making any eye contact.
"Yes?" Frank quietly whispered and Gerard lightly sighed.
"I'm with Bert."
A few moments passed of silence. Frank's eyes were brimming with hot tears, and Gerard looked at him sympathetically.
"Oh," Frank finally said and brought the flower back. "Yeah, of course, I'll just- y'know, go, I guess."
Frank was about to turn around but Gerard grasped his shoulder, telling him to just wait.
"What do you want?" Frank asked, irritation flowing through those four words.
"Stay here for awhile, I dunno... Stay the night? It's gonna be getting late soon." Gerard offered the black haired boy.
Frank scoffed.
"You really expect me to stay with you after you just rejected me?!" He threw his hands in the air and ran them through his hair. He turned around, but didn't go anywhere.
"Frank, I didn't know you felt that way; I didn't know you like me like that." The red haired boy said quietly.
"I'm going."
"No! Please... Stay?" Gerard begged and Frank finally turned around. His eyes were narrowed and his eyebrows were furrowed.
"You led me on, Gerard." Frank spat, making Gerard wince. "You always told me you loved me- hell, you even kissed me a few times! But you just decided to go back to Bert?!"
The short boy poked his short, tatted finger at his best friend's chest.
"You told me you loved me," Frank growled and brought his hand back, but didn't let Gerard talk. "You would always text me 'good morning, Frank have a great day, beautiful' with that stupid heart emoji. Of-freaking-course I like you! Of-freaking-course I love you!"
"I didn't-"
"You didn't know. Yeah, okay, whatever. I wonder how many other people you led on, I can't be the only one."
"Maybe you should go..." Gerard quietly said as he hid behind the front door and Frank nodded slowly, but didn't say anything as he walked away.
The sixteen year old walked down the street and dropped the rose. He didn't care anymore. About seven houses down was his own home, so it didn't take long for him to get there and run up to his room. Without saying anything to his parents, he slammed his door shut and slid down to sit on his bottom, with his knees pulled up to his chin. The black haired boy tugged on his hair in frustration and squeezed his eyes shut.
"Such an idiot," he told himself and pulled on his hair more. A few tears slipped through his squeezed eyes, which only made Frank more mad and irritated. He stood up, aggressively opened his door and ran downstairs. He looked out of the window and noticed the sun setting slowly. It was pretty, and that made Frank smile, just a little bit. But then he remembered he was rejected by his best friend, and he also remembered that that same best friend was dating a druggie, who he hated like there was no tomorrow. So Frank's small smile disappeared as he walked to his fridge in the kitchen.
