Sunday! Finally it’s Sunday and I can finally take Nate bowling! As I reach his house I can already see the little guy sitting on his front porch waiting for me. As soon as I’m out of the car he jumps on me, quickly catching him I ruffle up his hair. “Hey buddy, ready for bowling?” I ask him. He quickly nods his head and zips over to the passenger seat, shaking my head at his antics I slip into the car.
“Alright Dominic, let’s be cool! Blast the music and roll down the top!” he says, surprising me.
“So what’s her name?” I ask, grinning at his totally out of character behavior.
“How did you kn- I mean girls, ewe! I could get cooties!” He says, trying to make up for his mistake.
“B.S! I know Rowdy got you out of cooties and into girls a long time ago! So mister, what’s her name?” I ask again.
“Alright, you got me! She’s at the twins’ day care! She’s new, she’s awesome, and her name is Poison! She told me to call her that! She’s pretty weird huh, but that’s ok cuz she is totally sexy!” He exclaims to me. Mental face slap. Why did I ever introduce him to Rowdy?
I tell him, “Nate I don’t think you should you should use the word sexy, let alone know what it means!”
He responds, “But Rowdy sai-”
“Nate, when is it ever smart to listen to what Rowdy says? Exactly, never. Since this is your first crush though, I guess I can do that when we go to pick the twins up ok? You can also tell her about your impressive bowling score, but how you only got second with it!” I say teasingly.
“You’re the best brother ever! Wait is Rowdy coming today?” he asks.
“Hmm, I’m not sure, I told him about it but I never got an answer. I’ll call him when we get out though, I have to talk to him about poising the minds of children, again.” I tell Nate.
“Ok! I hope he comes, as long as he doesn’t try and make a move on my girl!” he tells me, shaking his tiny fist in the air. I shake my head at him and as we pull in I see a familiar car in the parking lot, guess that’s one call that I won’t need to do. “Rowdy! You came!” Nate says; a smile lighting up his face as he hugs Rowdy.
“Of course I did lil playa!” Rowdy says ruffling his hair affectionately.
“Haven’t you corrupted him enough Rowdy? Teaching him the word sexy, really?” I ask him. Rowdy smiles and widens his eyes, he then points to himself in an offended ‘who, me?’ motion. As soon as I smirk up at him he knows I plan on tackling him so he picks up Nate, throws him over his shoulder, and runs into the bowling alley. Chuckling, I follow him in and pay for a lane and three bowling shoes, wow, isn’t it pathetic that I know Nate’s and Rowdy’s shoe size? Oh well, once I put everything at our lane I start looking for thing one and thing two. I shake my head when I spot curly hair sticking up from behind a bowling ball case, if he’s going to hide every time, he really needs a haircut. I sneak up to the case, jump, and grab onto his head, “gotcha!” As soon as I say that I feel someone jump onto my back and cover my eyes, on reflex I let go of Rowdy’s head to feel who’s behind me, Nate!
“Great job playa, give me a high five!” Rowdy says, I feel Nate jump off and watch as he high fives Rowdy, shaking my head at the twos’ antics I walk back to the table. I see that Rowdy’s back is to me, big mistake, I grab the shoes and start chucking them over at Rowdy, once he’s sure I’m out of shoes he turns around only to find a nacho chip thrown at him, hitting right between his eyes. Not being able to believe my good aim I start laughing at his cheese covered face, soon joined by Nate. “Oh, it’s on now Dom!” Rowdy shouts before grabbing a handful of nachos from behind the food counter and throwing them at me, unfortunately Nate gets in some of the crossfire. I see the fire flare behind Nate’s eyes and before I know it, we’re having a full out food fight in a bowling alley, unluckily we forget about the bowling alley part.
